OK, I normally don't rant about my job, but I really need to vent. My job sucks; I feel like a fucking babysitter with half of the staff, and the only people I actually like hate working there enough to all leave. Apparently, I'm supposed to be supporting my boss, which is bull, since all I do is work because we don't have enough people; I get credit for it, but nowhere near enough to surpass the stress levels. I've had my position for two years, and half of that is wasted time: six months on medical leave, three months in one place being an overpaid supervisor, and three months in this current hole basically trying to do my job and also ensure the entire staff doesn't quit (only to be told I'm too lenient and can't be friends with everybody--I'm the only one getting results that are worth something).
It's sad when coworkers leave me comments online about how great it is to work with me, and how I should be running the show because I know what I'm doing. And speaking of knowing what I'm doing, if one more subordinate tries to run my shift, they're getting the full brunt of my frustration--I mean people literally telling me that I should send someone home early because we're "overstaffed" then I'm about due for my meal break and there's enough work to require that allegedly excessive person to stay the remaining 40 minutes. If it was my boss, yes, I would consent; this is bull coming from people who've been working with the company less than I've ever held a position. I think I know how to run a shift--a year as a basic employee, two as a supervisor, two as management.
