refractory period?

My first post here on JUB (btw, hey all!) and this may sound dumb to most of you, especially since I can't really get my words in order the way i want to ask this. So I was wondering, once you jack off, or have sex and cum, do you last longer the second time around, or is it the same as the first? I ask this because I keep hearing people say "oh, you gotta pop the first one so you last longer blah blah blah." But I've also read that the 'refractory period' can last as little as 15 minutes to as long as 20 hours. -scratches head- Someone care to explain to this here dummy? ^_^

Two different questions. Technically, the "refractory period" is the time that it takes after ejaculation to "get it back up". An erection is a complicated set of opening of certain blood vessels to allow blood into the penis and another set of blood vessels constricting to keep blood in the penis. After you come, this process has to be reversed and it often takes time for guys to regain an erection. Most guys in the teens can get hard quicker but it does typically take an increasing amount of time as you get older.

And to the other question- the ability to ejaculation multiple times in a short period varies from guy to guy. Some guys can come several times a day while others say that it just takes too long to come after the first time. There are guys who swear that jacking off makes them less horny. We're not really sure why.
