Just figured with the date coming up, it was a good time to remind everyone of this great(or in my opinion) movie and message.

Based on a 10 book comic series, the movie V for Vendetta was originally supposed to be released November 4, 2005, but was delayed until March 17, 2006.

The film itself is entertaining and eye-opening, showing what a single man can do when he has enough will behind him. The message within the movie, is one I will never forget.

"People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."

i loved that movie so much....although a couple parts were somewhat cheesy like the dominoes.... im actually surprised the american government didnt try to mess with its release considering all the subtext

The Gunpowder Plot

Overview. The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was an attempt to kill James I, King of England. Catholic conspirators led by Robert Catesby placed kegs of gunpowder in the cellars of the Parliament Buildings on the night of November 4, 1605. They planned to ignite the gunpowder when James, his eldest son, Prince Henry, and Queen Ann attended the opening of Parliament the following day. One of the conspirators, Guy Fawkes, was deputed to stay with the gunpowder and ignite it at the opportune moment.
However, word of the conspiracy leaked out, and royal officials captured Fawkes with the gunpowder. Fawkes, and several other of the conspirators, were put to death.
