I like the retro look so here is our new kitchen table and chairs: (we only bought 2 chairs)

We had a 1950s red and gray with chrome table and chair set for years - I loved it - ended up replacing it with a cool Art Deco set - I miss the formica set though - easier to clean.

Some Classic NJ Diners still make the best milk shakes. Dutch cocoa processed rich chocolate ice cream and a heaping spoon of malted powder with some milk.

Served in a big pedastal glass filled to the brim with extra on the side in a tall stainless steel mixing cup. Slurp! :drool:

*sigh* Oh, Peeonme, if only you'd posted this before the weekend! On Saturday I had a day out in Brighton. It was the first time I'd been there in my life. Very crowded despite the rotten weather. I looked around for somewhere to eat and ended up in a ramshackle veggy wholefood place chomping pine nut kernels, kale and stone cold roast sweet potatoes. Then yesterday you showed us your kitchen stuff so out of curiosity I did an image search and the first picture that came up was of JB's American Diner on the seafront in Brighton.

Well, every cloud has a silver lining so next time I go to Brighton thanks to you I'll know where to eat! If you and Mrs P are ever in London I'll take you both down to Brighton and treat you. Brighton is a very rainbowy town.
 
When we first bought the farm, we bought a set of barbers' chairs....loved this look amidst all the Pharm stuff we dragged inside,

Love this era.
 
I'm old enough to remember when that style was called modern instead of retro. In our family kitchen it was yellow, but otherwise just about the same.
