They seem to have gotten a wild hair across their ass lately.

How do we start a boycot campaign against the record industry?

I wonder how much they're spending to recover the losses.

I protest by using Linux! The DRM in iTunes and Vista supports the RIAA's position, and just encourages them to be ever more aggressive about attacking people.

Open-source software doesn't do DRM (I think that's why there's no iTunes for Linux). If people would boycott Vista and iTunes, this would do much to cause the death of DRM.

Don't forget the much-maligned temporary files in your browser cache.

I have fallen in love with Opera's Cache 4 and given it a desktop shortcut.

Remember to move the file after buffering is complete but before the song ends (some disappear when done).

!oops!

^This is exactly my point!

EMI is less than one ten thousandth the size of Microsoft! One ten thousandth! And yet Microsoft lets a company 0.01% its size dictate the design of Vista!

It would not take that many consumers to push back with a force equal to that of EMI.
If we boycott Vista and iTunes, it would do much to force Microsoft to abandon this ridiculous technology.

DRM is evil. Boycott Vista! Boycott iTunes!

I keep saying it and I'll keep saying it - the RIAA and others forced Microsoft to use DRM (note that in the article below it's EMI who's really calling the shots - that's if you're able to take those blinkers off for a few minutes guys).

I don't want an OS designed for the RIAA or EMI. I want one designed for me.

If Microsoft can't give me that, I'll look elsewhere.
