Rimming should be pretty safe as far as HIV is concerned, but there is a significant risk of hep, so make sure you're vaccinated.

There's also a particularly nasty form of diarrhoea called shigella that's apparently doing the rounds ATM.

But as long as the guy's clean, there shouldn't be too much of a problem. I think you need to change doctors. She's presenting non-factual information to you.

I suppose being safe is always good (I believe strongly in the use of condoms and dental dams, etc), but she should really be telling you facts and not hyperboles.

Furthermore, are you not uncomfortable seeing a female doctor? Most men go to male doctors, and females go to female doctors. I would also suspect that a male doctor understands the male body better than a female doctor.
