I met up with a guy about 3 months ago which was the first time i did anything with a guy. we wanked each other off, kissed, i tried to fuck him wearing a condom but i freaked out a bit. While we were wanking neither of us had a condom on. After we were finished i noticed small cuts on my foreskin. I'm really worried i might of caught something as I'm sure some of his semen got onto where the cuts on my foreskin were. Does anyone know if this carries any risk of HIV infection or am i being paranoid?

By all means, get tested to relieve your anxiety.

Like the guy before me said; get tested. However, don't be too worried. There is also a chance that he was clean. Try not to panic. Not just yet. ;)

Hiv cannot live outside the body. So if he ejaculated on you and you had cuts on your foreskin, you aren't in danger. :) Get tested just to be sure.

Generally, if you can't describe the encounter in one sentence, it is one of those scenarios that is low risk for HIV.

We can tell you that but you're not going to sleep soundly until you get tested.

You're sure? 100%? I'm SURE you're not, you're just going through a 'what if' scenario that gay men that suffer from anxiety have all the time when they have these kinds of random, albeit 99.9% safe hookups. Even if some semen got onto your foreskin, contact with the air severely paralyzes the virus and makes it extremely difficult (basically impossible) to infect (even though it doesn't kill it).

It's ok, I know a lot of people who suffer from anxiety over HIV. It's only bad if it's so bad you lose sleep over it.

Small cuts on your foreskin? Deep, fresh, gaping open wounds are what cause concern, and in this situation it is blood (and not semen) exchange between two people that increases the risk.

Let me put it this way: If you get infected from this, please contact National Geographic, Time, and every HIV scientist out there. It means you have been the FIRST person of millions and millions infected this way and that the virus can be passed as easily as the common cold now, against all previous scientific thought.

That would suck for all of us.

Actually studies, mostly in Africa, have shown that uncircumcised men are at significantly more risk for HIV because the skin of the interior foreskin and the head are very thin. The virus is able to enter microscopic cuts and scratches. The studies involve straight sex and not exactly the same as transmission by mutual masturbation, but it cannot be said confidently that there is little risk. The OP should be tested for his peace of mind.

Ridiculous, no offense.

Of course the OP should get tested because that's the only thing that will give him peace of mind. But unless he stuck a dropper of fresh semen into his urethra or used the semen to jack off on fresh deep cuts on his penis (semen that was exposed to air no less) there is extremely low risk. This is not how people typically get HIV.

The test will come back negative. The OP was choosing safer and smarter sex and used a condom.

sounds extremely low-risk, but anyone, gay & straight, who is sexually active should be tested for all STDs at least once a year.
