I've seen electric luggage that follows you around airports, so why not do the same for golf carts?

 
I don't know if that is the brand my neighbor has, but I know he has one that does that as well. Golf carts are much wider. I'm sure it is possible, but would require more sophisticated software than a golf bag.
 
I realize that AI is that latest buzzword to sell things, to make you think it's the latest in new, cutting-edge technology, but can't you do that with technology that already exists? Couldn't you just have a caddy that follows a remote, say, a fob in your pocket, so that wherever you go, it goes?
 
I'm still waiting for a grocery cart that I can send to the grocery store to do the shopping for me and bring it back home.
 
What you really need is a caddy that plays the game for you as well, then all you have to do is sit in your car in the car park and watch the game on your phone.

This very idea has been used in the interests of making theatre techncians unemployed. An actor carries a keyfob in a shirt pocket and a followspot is progamed to move the light as the actor moves across the stage. The system works well, what it can't do is point the light onto a audience member who uses a cellphone, in order to shame the moron into shutting up, the way a human operator can.
 
A quick look at a Google search tells me that there are currently over 13,400 people employed as golf caddies in the US.

Humans to be replaced.
