It's perhaps cliche to say, but I never really tire of seeing different variations on Shakespeare's works. Really excited about the upcoming R&J. Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth as the star-crossed lovers, with Damian Lewis, Paul Giamatti, Ed Westwick and Lesley Manville - one of the most underrated actresses currently working.

Wow, another one! Looks interesting, I must admit. Loved Baz Luhrmann's version ... very 'out there' & brave!

I really liked Luhrmann's version - really proves that Shakespeare works in any time, and any context - even where those contexts involve Hawaiian shirts. Haha.

Thanks for bringing this up - I shall be keeping an eye out for this film.

And, if I am not mistaken, one of the very earliest examples of male nudity onscreen.

Such a shame his celebrity never picked up. He didn't do too many films after that.

Douglas Booth is gorgeous. Cannot wait for this film.

The 1968 film is available on Netflix and is gorgeous in HD. The new looks great, but I am not sure about the modern music. I wonder if Booth is related to that other Booth family,of actors, Edwin and John Wilkes et al.

Zefferelli's 1968 version- still the BEST!!!!!!

I saw this film in Thailand when I was in the military service and it showed Leonard Whiting's nude ass. I saw it in Ohio later and there wasn't any nudity in it, it had been cut. I assume that the first one I saw was the international vesion and the later one I saw was the American version. braex27 and dougmc92 are right, Leonard Whiting was gorgeous.

Yikes.

"Women in Love" with Alan Bates and Oliver Reed showed a lot more... though I guess that came at the end of the 60s. And then with "The Last Picture Show" (great film, highly recommended), that whole inhibition with nudity pretty much fell away.
