Not exactly the happiest news to hear when I got out of bed. I think after all these years, Rove deserves to take some time off the show. My condolences to her family and friends :(

Actor Belinda Emmett, wife of television personality Rove McManus, has died after a long battle with cancer.

She died at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, early on Saturday morning, with her husband by her side.

"It is with great sadness we advise that Belinda Emmett's battle with cancer has ended," Emmett's family said in a statement.

"Belinda passed away just after dawn this morning at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney with her family and husband by her side.

That is so sad ..... she was so young, so beautiful and a talented actress and singer.
RIP Belinda Emmett.

She was only 32. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer (IIRC) 8 years ago. She overcame that, but subsequently discovered she had bone cancer.

She had not looked well for a long time - even when she and Rove wed. Sad for him and the family. At least they grabbed what happiness they could while that was still possible.

It's sad to see another person die due to breast cancer.

The sobering thought is that despite earlier detection there has been no real change to the amount of people that die from it.

Unfortunately when Belinda discovered a lump on her breast she ignored it. Maybe if she hadn't ignored it something might have been able to be done and it wouldn't have ended up as bone cancer.

It's true, she did ignore it, but she thought she was too young. Hopefully other women can now learn from this. It was so depressing watching the news tonight, and its so strange seeing Rove upset.

Yes, very, very sad for such a young woman to die from breast cancer. Rove can be hard to take at times, but I always get the sense that he is a very good person, and he was clearly very devoted to his wife. I hear he is taking the rest of this year off, which is more than understandable. I really feel for him and hope he gets plenty of peace and quiet to grieve.

If her death can have any good coming from it, it will be that yound women will hopefully take heed that they aren't too young to have breast cancer, and any small sign of lumps should be investigated immediately.

Same goes for guys and testicular cancer - feel anything odd, get yourselves to the doctor and hang the embarassment. Two minutes feeling red faced is much better than the alternative.
