I just read somewhere that he is involved in some sort of a scam with a guy who is doing this "computers for kids" thing. Idol was hired as some sort of consultant and now there are thousands of dollars missing. I'll scrounge around and see if I can find the source.

He had a very small part in Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway revival of Terrence McNally's The Ritz last year. I chatted with him a couple of times. Really nice, normal guy.
 
Sweetie-pie, that picture is ten or fifteen years old. Ryan/Marc is now 41 and not ageing well:
