Scientists mull Solar Radiation Management – a potential climate-change stop-gap

Color me dubious. We shouldn't be considering damaging the atmosphere further in order to manipulate it to our ends.

We're not that good, REALLY.

Look at our oil impacts to the oceans and shorelines.

Look at our exploitation of plastics without any remedy for how to dispose of them.

Look at our paving the land without a better plan for transportation, or even considering that it may not be ethical to traverse the planet in energy-polluting methods.

Look at our exploitation of shipping and cruise ships, polluting as they go.

No, I don't trust "science" to fully understand the impacts of tinkering with the envelope that surrounds the planet. And not just because I've watched Snowpiercer ten times, even if Chris Evans keeps all his clothes on in that one.

Our response to climate change is like an overweight person pouring Super Overnight Fat Burner Gummies down their gullet while remaining inactive and not reducing calories.

All of the above.

And I am always skeptical about Hail Mary attempts by scientists. They make for fun distractions for the masses, but often are not only utterly impractical, but also lacking any real sense of the impact on the entire ecosystem.

It is why humans are likely destined to wipe out the planet if we don't just eliminate ourselves first.

But I am always interested in the potential results from corollary research and development in the way that CERN gave us the world wide web or how GPS uses Einstein's General Relativity equations to remain accurate.
