either he blocked me or deleted the app. we're sort of friends, been talking since last nov. and have hooked up at his place like 3 times

I would probably just let it go until he contacted me, you don't know him or what kind of cray cray you could be opening the door upon.

I think it would be perfectly fine to email him. He gave you his email for a reason. I would also just be mentally prepared and mature enough to not hear a response from him, because it sounds like you guys weren't much friends, but more just hooking up.
 
so an update:
when i thought he deleted me/the app, i deleted my profile and made a new one just to see if he was still there. he wasn't. i searched his profile name nothing came up. now a few days later i go online and his profile is there...
going to take the above advice and just see if he contacts me

Im not sure what this proved or disproved, but if you want to see him, reach out and tell him. This whole creating new profiles to stalk him is now making you seem a little crazy and childish. The grown up thing would be to send him an email to the address he gave you to contact him. If he doesn't respond, you have your answer as to whether he is interested, and you can keep it moving.
