This character rises way above the ususal Deplorables in the GQP....I can only think the exposure of his real backstory and his lies will only get wilder and wilder from here.

Everything about him seems to be a pathological lie. I think he ranks up there with Trump.

That's a good start. I wonder if the next fabrication discovery will be if he ever had a mother at all. If GS himself was completely born of a lie.

If anything will defeat him, it'll be the money. If he was broke (perhaps a relative term) where did the $700,000.00 come from that he lent to his own campaign? Although this quote from NBC News The story also raised questions about how he was able to lend his campaign $700,000 after having claimed on a campaign finance form in 2020 that he was making $55,000 per year doesn't automatically include 2021 and the current year so maybe his good fortunes increased? But those amounts should be somewhere.

This story is just absurd. Not that I respect the current state of the GOP at all, but GS could have worn his historical status of the first non-incumbent gay (if he is in fact gay) republican elected to congress. Now however his name will become synonymous with being a pathological liar. He'll be no more than a joke. Whether he remains in office or not.
 
I don't understand. People have been forced to 'step down' for far, far less. Why not Santos?

Granted, he's just an 'elect', but, with all the evidence against him, his entire election was based upon lies. Can they not just 'take it back'?
 
Intentional, planned deceit is the root of republican hypocrisy.
The fact that McCarthy and the rest of the republican fascist leadership are silent, means they are not only hypocrites, but that they condone the deceit and are willing accomplices to it.

So far George Santos has pretended to be a gay Afro-Latino Ukrainian Brazilian Catholic Jew whose mother died on 9/11, whose ancestors survived the Holocaust, whose employees died in the Pulse club mass shooting, and whose net worth rose by millions overnight.

So far the most salacious tales are that he started a GoFundMe for animals under a fake name and that he is actually wanted in Brazil on criminal charges.

Of course, as drink Uncle Rudy said 'Truth isn't truth'....

Unless the House refuses to seat him there is nothing that can be done. Even if he's arrested and goes to jail, he still won the election and would be a congressman from prison, free to run again from prison. The system has relied on citizens of moderate character to remove themselves when caught like this, but that would require his party to unite against him, and Kevin literally can't lose his vote if Kevin wants power. The venality is monumental, and every time you think that the 'pubs can't dig any deeper, they find a bigger shovel.

So, nothing will happen, the House will seat him, he'll vote to install that slimeball, and Republicans will learn yet again that lying and corruption are the party platform.

It is astounding to me that states will strip the right to vote from felons while the government would allow them to rule.

The answer is that one-half of our political process is full of liars and thieves and will not participate to remove the liars and thieves.

it might be possible to have a recall election, I don't know the rules for that in New York, but he'll be up for reelection before that process could produce results.

The sad part is you can be fired for lying on your resume... but at this point the only way to stop him is if he resigns.
 
That is hilarious, there is now some question as to his actual residence, a phantom "husband," and debts that did not get paid.

I think maybe requiring HS seniors to take and pass a course in identifying a toxic narcissistic sociopath before they are sent out in the world of crap they create and/or become a leader of the free world.
