I am newly single and really enjoying it. However I have also been hanging out with an ex of mine on a strictly friends level and a little bit of me wants to reopen the sex portion of our old relationship, because it was amazing! But idk how to bring it up and he kinda has been hinting it... like we were talking and he made a comment about how huge my package looked in a pair of jeans, and also was joking about how I could have sex with whoever I wanted now that I'm single. But idk if he is just joking about all of this or if he is possible hinting about wanting sex with me too... So I was wondering if you guys thought it sounded like he was hinting about it or if he was just joking? And if he is hinting about it how do i kinda hint back that I am interested?

My ex and I had a period of reconnecting and having even more amazing sex over the summer than when we were together. Two things to keep in mind:

1. Don't expect the reignited old flame to last. My ex eventually wanted to play boyfriend and redirected his attention elsewhere (I wouldn't take him back).

2. If he asks you back, tell him no and to just enjoy the time you have together. There's a reason why you broke up in the first place.

What was the reason that the two of you broke up?

Ex-sex is not unusual. Sometimes the sex is still good, long after the relationship is not so good.

Don't hint. Talk about it like two adults. And talk about whether it means that you are dating or whether is it is just FWB.

And if the two of you decide to go down that path, talk about whether you're allowed to see other people and what will happen if one of you starts dating someone else.

Well we broke up because he didnt want a serious relationship and I did... but I just got out of a serious one and am in no hurry to get back into one... And i just feel like if I was to talk about it now, that it might make things super awkward or something or that im being too forward or something. So my hope is to hint until something actually happens... and then talk to him about it and ask if that is something we want to continue or not?

If you can't have an honest conversation with someone who you let into your bed (and into various places on your body), then maybe it is best not to go there with this guy.

You ultimately have to choose what is best for you but most of the more experienced guys will tell you that having these vague terms around fuckbuddies is a recipe for disaster- especially if there's a history like the you have with this guy.

Well we talked about it.... my hinting skills are terrible lol and I just gave up trying to hint... and yeah... we both understand what to expect from this... that no matter what we want to be friends and that if at any time we feel that this will jeopardize the friendship then we will stop... and that we are both allowed to see other people but that if things start to get serious with another person, ie we start dating someone then we will have to stop...

Good for you. It's tricky but it's better to have it out there so that no one gets hurt in the future.
