Minibone was a feral kitten when I brought him in from the cold. Literally -- he was stumbling around in the snow with pneumonia and would have died pretty soon if I hadn't trapped him and brought him inside.

Anyway. Fast forward a few years. He's now indistinguishable from any other well-behaved house kitty except for a few quirks. One is that he doesn't enjoy cuddling that much. He'll put up with it for a few minutes, but then he jumps off my lap and goes chasing a dust ball or whatever.

So recently a friend gave me this funky massage chair. It doesn't really massage, but it does vibrate, kind of like when a train goes by the house only more localized. Well Minibone was intrigued and started coming up into my lap to share in the good vibrations.

This morning he was rolling around in my lap for a good ten minutes, then he closed his eyes and stretched out. Next thing I know, he goes limp. I mean, like he didn't have a bone (no pun intended) in his body. I couldn't even detect any breathing.

For some reason I almost went into a panic. I literally thought he'd died. But no -- after a bit he jolted awake, meowed and jumped off.

So now he's a cuddle addict, thanks to this peculiar chair. (*8*) (*8*) (*8*) (*8*)

Anybody else have a nice cat story?

Nice, no. Funny, yep.

Years ago, my friend put a sock over his cat's head. It started running around the room backwards. I peed myself. I haven't seen anything that funny in quite a while.

Well, except for Brian Peppers.

EDIT

Oh, and his new cat loves to follow the laser pointer. We have him attach boobs all the time. The chix think it's cyoot.

I went over to my neighbor's house one afternoon to visit with them. They had just acquired 2 cats, Magic and Mercy. Mercy meets me, takes a whiff, then goes off on her own "stalking" things like a hunter, Magic meets me, plops down on my lap, looks up at me really quickly as if to say hello, then proceeds to snooze.

this happened with another neighbor's dog too!

Apparently, i'm very comfortable to sleep on, LOL.

Meow, meow! Or do you prefer woof woof?

We had a cat adopt us about a year and a half ago. We don't know her name so we just call her KITTY and she comes! We, (my daughter and I) just moved into our little travel trailer, and was eating breakfast outside and she comes around, a little on the skinny side, so my daughter giver her a piece of bacon, I said NO now we will never get rid of it. Its true, she has been with us ever since. Even after 2 moves. I don't thing her preivious owners were all that nice to her, cause when they moved she came back. She was not all that cuddly when she first came, she would hardly let us touch her, and real timid around people. Now she is more open to us touching her, and likes to have her belly rubbed. She like lazer pointers too. Before we moved she could climb a tree in the back and get on the roof of the trailer, then she would poke her head thru the roof vent and meow! Its just has been a pleasure to have her in our family! I guess this is not a real funny story . . . sorry!

Our cat Jesse, weighed in at about 8lbs. She and the (at that time) 3 dogs, none of which weighed under 160 lbs, had an accord that she doesn't go outside and they don't go inside.

One day the biggest dog (180lbs) snuck inside, suddenly we hear a hissing and a scrabbling of big feet. We come upon the scene of a tiny cat, chassing a huge dog across the kitchen backwards, while clawing at his face. Nearly died from laughter right there on the spot.

My sister had a dog and a cat who grew up as kitten and puppy together. The dog was a golden retriever so it got to be quite big. The cat would wait on a table until the dog came by, then jump on his back. The dog would start running around the house and the cat would ride him! Really funny to see.

My two cats developed a habit many years ago of sleeping on the stairs, but the weird thing is that they both start out at opposite ends of the staircase. One on the bottom stair, one on the top stair. They will both stay on a stair for about 20 minutes when one will move up and the other will move down 1 step. When the first one moves, the other one moves. If they keep it up long enough they'll meet in the middle but they will NEVER sleep on the same step. They just skip that one and keep at least one empty step between them and they end up at the opposite ends of the staircase than they started out at. They usually only do this on warm days when it's not hot enough to use the AC and I run the attic fan. They enjoy the whoosh of cool air that surges up the staircase.

One time when I was laying in my bed, and talking on the phone, Gizmo comes running into the room and as swift as can be and not even pausing, he jumps on the bed, bites my toe and runs out again.

Oh my kitty Gizmo will only eat three kinds of cat food, and she picke on my mum she love I and my mum but not my brothers.

2 cats named Gizmo -- what are the odds?

We used to have what we refered to as the "Feline Air-Exchange Program".

If you forgot to close your bedroom door at night, one of the cats would sneak into your room and join you in bed. You would wake up with this lump on your chest, and the tip of the cat's nose touching the tip of your nose.

You would exhale, and the cat would breathe in your old air ... the cat would exhale, and you would breathe in its old air.

I used to do that back in the days when I got stoned. Am I going to hell for that?

Gizmo comes running into the room and as swift as can be and not even pausing, he jumps on the bed, bites my toe and runs out again. It didn't hurt and I was more confused than anything else.

I used to have a cat that did that same thing! Never to me. He loved only me and followed me like a dog, but he didn't like women or children. He would come in the room and rub one time on someone's leg; appear to be affectionate, then when they would reach down to pet him, he would bite, then jump about 2 feet back, turn around and hiss like saying "f**k you!" then walk off. He wasn't very popular!

I had a cat for a while that was the only cat I ever met who got "bed head". He was NOT a long hair. He would wake me up at about 4:30am to get into bed with me and then he would sleep until noon. When he got out of bed, he would come down the stairs with all of his fur messed up and stretch, go eat, and then go about straightening out his fur. He turned into a psycho cat who would attack me any time there was another cat in the back yard because I wouldn't let him out to go kill the other cat. (And, he very well could have!)

I still miss him sometimes.
