Should I wait before purchasing a blu-ray porn or are there good ones out there?

Hi,

I have a blu-ray player and I'd like to buy some porn. I don't have any porn on DVD as of right now. I've tried to do some online research on this, but I'm curious as to what the selection is like for blu-ray porn. Obviously it wouldn't be as big as dvd.

At one point in time I was hearing all this talk about porn being shot in high-definition. I'm curious as to whether good porn is available on blu-ray.

Should I just buy a DVD and wait for blu-ray porn dvds to come out and the price to lower or is now an okay time to buy it?

Thanks!

I'm sorry to say I think Blu-ray players are just a waste of time. I bought one and I find nothing special about it and the price of the movies make it even worse. I dont see the reason for the extra cost for them. So I really wouldnt buy any porn cause you know they cost even more than regular movies.

But thats just me.... I dont know about how others feel.

Just google it. If you find some bluray porn you want, go for it.

But I've been told that porn and hi-def aren't good friends. Every zit, ingrown hair and mole are visible for all to see. I prefer my porn with a fantasy element, rather than cold hard reality! :-)

Another factor: despite things improving over the years, porn isn't known for its high production standards. I'd guess that most HD porn shoots use highly compressed HD formats (like HDV) which, in laymans terms, means you're not going to see truly beautiful HD pictures just because it's mastered to a Bluray disc.

I totally agree with andysayshi. I don't want to see every little details either. But, a PS3 is actually a great investment if you are thinking about an upgrade to Blu-ray.

Thanks. Just wanted to add... HD looks amazing... Blu-Ray looks amazing. There is the price problem, but I see so much of a difference with Blu-Ray and more people are buying Blu-Ray and HD in general. I just see more studios releasing Blu-Ray... at least in the straight porn industry, over the last few years porn films have been filmed in high-def but released to regular dvd.

We'll see.

^ That's the latter part of my point. HD that is done well looks amazing, but porn is typically NOT made very well, from a production point of view. Don't expect Bluray porn to look anything like Bluray feature films.

In this blog, the production workflow for the Bluray "Grunts" porn flick is explained. The material is shot using a camera format called HDV, which is a very highly compressed format. Once its edited and re-compressed for Bluray production, it'll be even more grungy. What this means is that, despite being HD, the pictures are unlikely to be much more impressive than standard definition.

I guess that would be part of my search... a good title with good quality. I would think reviews could reveal this. I haven't searched around enough... it gets so complicated!

imho opinion if you are looking for high def on the cheap get an upconverting dvd player. You won't get blue ray quality normally (it says it upconverts regular dvd's into 1080p but I have my doubts.) but it will be higher def than the 420 standard of normal dvd players vhs and regular cable television. You can get an upconverting dvd player at walmart for somewhere between 40-70 dollars, and an hdmi cable for somewhere between 26-40 dollars. For the player it depends on the brand name and the buttons you want. For the cable it depends on the amount of shielding around the cable and the length of said cable.
