I was 6 years old in 1963 when I sat in a movie theater and saw Sidney Poitier demonstrate "the better angels of our nature".

^ Great movie. Incredible actor. Amazing career.

A very sad day indeed.

Ya know, Billy, Sidney Poitier was one of those actors that made me sit up in my chair, and stand taller as I walked.

Great actor, my mum fancied the pants off him.

Another great one gone.

Loved all his movies but to have had him in GWCTD with Tracy and Hepburn was a revelation and a gift when I saw it for the first time as a teen.

He was good and had realness that came out in the characters he played.

I loved this interview. It is quite long, but really something.
