this was such a stale year for movies, music and politics, somebody PLEASE give me some good news about 2023. anything, new technology coming out, movies, ANYTHING.

Well, for what it's worth we got a 51-47 majority in the Senate. Trump continues to see his base and last legal foothold wither away, so there's that.

As for movies, all I can see on the horizon is John Wick Chapter 4. And, I suspect plenty more less than mediocre dumbass movies which are little more than advertisements for themselves, with villians who say things like "Silence!" and "So we meet again Allen Wrench man!!!!" .

New technology is never a good thing, but nobody's listening. I'm hoping for the fall of Elon Musk, but not holding my breath.

At Elon's level of privilege there's only falling forward. Best we can hope for is his incompetence causing him to cave in on himself.

That's what I meant. Politics, the economy and the social structure of this country are designed to bolster and protect men (and I use that term loosely) like him, but stupid (and yes, he is stupid. There's more than one kind of intelligence) child-like men like him almost always implode at some point. It's happening to Trump right now and I'm savoring it like a klondike bar on a hot day.
