small japanese dudes

Re: small jap dudes

I would certainly suggest using a bit more judgement in creating thread titles.

I'm sure quite a few people may find the term "small jap dudes" offensive.

I agree. However, strangely i belong to a group sharing pics of asian men and apparently the word does not create the same effect for japanese men living outside US. It is used widely in postings. Many fellow asians were even confused that it could even have that negative meaning. Having lived in the US for awhile and then saw the using of the term shocked me at first.

Just like when i heard many people in the country i live using the word negro to refer to blacks. But then i realized that in this part of the world that word does not actually carry the same connotation. And it refer actually to the adjective of 'negro' which translates as black, though i dont think i will ever be comfortable using that word or 'jap'.

Re: small jap dudes

We recently had a similar discussion on terms like 'rice queen', 'yellow fever', 'potato queen', 'sticky rice', etc. - all of which are used in HK with gay abandon and without causing offence. But apparently these phrases are offensive to our American friends.

I use the abbreviation Jp, and that seems to be acceptable.

Ah! What a difference an A makes...

Good comment. I've never heard the word "J*p" when it was not used in a pejorative manner. :(

Political correctness shoots WAY up when you enter american territority. I think sometimes it is possible to be too offended on behalf of other people.

Some girl chewed me out cos I referred to her as oriental at another forum. I hadn't a clue what she meant til I was brought up to speed. I think intentionality is important to remember. The thread starter probly didn't mean to offend anyone. In Britain, Jap is short for Japanese, or comes before 's eye.

well, let's not forget that in America 60 years ago "Japs" were being locked up in work camps and having A-bombs dropped on them (meaning, that's what they were being called in anti-Japanese propaganda).

It's less about "oh, those hyper sensitive americans" and more about the history of the thing...

but, seriously, who cares? that was a cool pic. where's it from?

Concerning sensitivities and racial prejudices, I just want to put the following things on record here...

1. In Asia, well brought up people prefer to call someone of African descent a Negro rather than a Black because the direct reference to anybody's skin colour is extremely offensive to us. It is only the uneducated masses who laugh at someone's natural hues. On the other hand, more traditional Chinese would not really object to being called Yellow because it is a lucky colour for us, and asociated with royalty actually...but we do not like it if we actually had any kind of disease like jaundice which would make us resemble bananas in shade!

2. As for "native-speakers"....well, I have lost job oportunities to Europeans and Americans who could neither speak nor write nor understand proper English simply because as an Asian, English is not considered to be my first language (which it is).

ey man, I'm also into JAPANESE men and I recently came across KATO LEE and I got totally blown away by this Japanese cutie! I read ur comment about people calling NIHONJINs "JAP". Yesterday, I met a Japanese guy at a bathhouse in Manila and I used that term and he got a bit surprised and laughed...Now I know I shouldn't use that in front of them cuz it is indeed derogatory just like "nigger." -- BUT ya know, I've slept with 3 Japanese men already and 2 of them have thick uncut cock, which made me debunk my misconception that they have small willies. I myself, am a quarter Japanese (1/4 French, 1/4 Filipino, 1/4 Spanish) but I have a big and thick one

....AND they're so HOT in bed, all of the NIHONJINs i've gotten intimate with are quite loud in bed...and all three of them moaned "IKU, IKU, IKU"repeatedly which rlly turned me on (IKU means "I'm coming!")
