Part One
The swans kept it up.
We all turned around to watch them and when Wally and Josh stopped kissing to look also, the swans stopped. As soon as Wally and Josh kissed again, the swans raised their head, blasted their trumpeting call and rewound their necks. Each of us couples acting as attendants during the ceremony began kissing also, the people sitting on the lawn crowded onto the deck and dock to watch the swans, or us. We must have been a sight. Five couples of men, locked in embraces, lips together.
But that was why we were all gathered here. To celebrate love, especially the love between two very special men, who had touched and changed the lives of all nine of us on the deck with them. There was one lone, single man up here with us, Tom, but before the night was over that would change.
Before I go any further I should tell you that I am Jason. I am going to continue the story since Wally and Josh have severed all dealings with small.town.country.guys. But it would not be fair to not tell you the rest of the story from the committment ceremony. What a night it turned out to be.
Even though we had only a few days to pull it off, the ceremony was beautiful. We probably could have filled a second lake with the tears that flowed during it, but they were tears of joy and happiness. Josh was the first, wiping tears from his eyes as he said his vows. Standing where we were behind the arch I could see the people standing on the lawn. Just about every woman, and even some men had tears running down their faces before Wally and Josh slipped the rings on each others' fingers. I was looking at Alexis as one her eyelashes slipped loose and streamed down her cheek, washed along by her tears. It was all I could do not to laugh.
During the first long kiss between Wally and Josh, Cleve and Anthony stepped under the arch and embraced Michael and Justin, locking their lips together. Rich and Colin followed suit and I kissed Peter. Tom stood looking from couple to couple, a big smile on his face. Finally the suck face fest ended and the party moved to the two tents set up on the lawn. A buffet table was at the end of each and a small bar at the other end.
Alexis and some drop dead gorgeous model accompanying her joined what has become known as the boat house 4, or BH4 at a table. She introduced Jay to all of us and we quickly came to realize that besides being so handsome he was a really nice guy, straight but nice any way. Afterall, why should we hold that against him.
Wally and Josh circulated through the two tents, I don't think they sat down to eat but they had around 150 guests to visit with.
After dinner and dessert, Beth and Sara had won out over the rest of us and surprised Wally and Josh with an actual three tiered wedding cake, one of Wally's nephews became the DJ. Tables were cleared from one of the tents and it was the dance floor.
Before he announced it was time for Wally and Josh's first dance, the BH4 took the pontoon boat out onto the lake. As Wally and Josh danced to the old 60's song 'Cherish', actually Josh's choice which surpirised me, we set off a display of fireworks. They are now legal in Indiana so we had quite a display. When they finished the dance and stayed locked in each others' arms, kissing deeply in the middle of the tent we sent up a rainbow of large colorful bursts, our own version of a grand finale.
Michael and Cleve, Justin and Anthony, Jim and Sara and Beth and Al joined them for the second dance and then everyone cut loose for a long night of drinking and dancing. Alexis danced with Jim, Josh's father and he even kissed her cheek when they were through. As he sat back down I heard Sara say "You know she is still basically a man." Jim, kissed his wife on the cheek and replied "I have learned that that really doesn't matter. She is a good person and a friend of our sons. Besides she looks really hot tonight." Everyone laughed at that and then Jim and Sara danced.
As the crowd thinned since it was getting late we saw a man staggering across the lawn from the side of house. He leaned against a tree about halfway down the lawn, took a big drink out of a bottle in a brown paper bag, watching the dancers in the tent. There were probably fifteen couples dancing slowly to some romantic song, including all of our group.
Suddenly the man dropped the bag, ran the rest of the way and burst into the tent. He grabbed Peter and I, pulling us apart, shouting "So this is the little fag that is trying to steal you away from me."
Peter yelled "Dominic, No!" as the man reared back with his fist and punched me in the face. Tom was the first to react, knocking Dominic down with one punch to the midsection. Someone opend a cell phone to call the police but I said no looking at Peter.
He looked down at Dominic, laying there holding his groin, I guess the punch was lower than I thought, and said "Dominic, you have your wife and family, I have Jason and my friends. The two don't mix and you and I don't either. Please go home and stay out of my life."
Dominic started to protest but Peter silenced him "No, Dominic. It's over. Monday I will ask to be on a different crew and you and Andrew can have each other. Maybe you can blow him when you both get drunk. But no more from me."
Tom, Anthony, Justin and Jay helped Dominic up and walked him to the front of the house. Peter kissed my cheek where a bruise was beginning to show and everyone went back to dancing.
Before long Rick and Bradon walked into the tent and looked around. Bradon was carrying a beautifully wrapped package. They finally spotted Wally and Josh and sheepishly approached them. Bradon, holding out the package said "I wasn't sure if you would want me here but I wanted to bring you this and apologize in person for the other night,"
Wally took the package and Josh said "That is in the past now Bradon. We both understand how it happened and have taken steps to never be in that position again. I have no hard feelings against you so, yes, please, both of you, have something to drink and enjoy the rest of the party."
They walked down the tent to the bar area, Rick glancing around seeming a little uncomfortable since the majority of the remaining partiers were gay men. They sat with Michael and Cleve and soon Tom joined them. When a good fast song came on Tom asked Rick to dance. Rick's eyes grew wide and he said "Not really, I'm straight."
"Oh, in that case lets all three dance, since it is a fast song no one will know you are dancing with a guy." Bradon looked at his brother and Rick finally stood up. About halfway through the song Rick began smiling and started dancing with a more relaxed manner. They stayed on the floor through three more songs before getting fresh drinks and sitting to rest. Rick was definately more relaxed now. He was enjoying the conversation and even once or twice put his arm around Tom's shoulder, leaning his head close to Tom to say something.
When Wally's nephew announced he was going to play two or three slow songs and that would be the end of the music, the three of them got up and went on the floor. Our group was all on the floor but we all kept an eye on the dancing threesome. At one point we were all close together and Wally said, "We know he likes having more than one."
By the third song they had their bodies pressed tight together and were taking turns kissing each other. Tom would kiss Bradon, then Rick and even Bradon and Rick shared several deep kisses. When the song finished they went to Wally and Josh, hugged them and said good night.
We all stood in the center of the tent and watched as the trio walked up the stone path, Tom in the middle, one arm around each brother, who had their arms across his back.
