Hey uys I need help from any of you computer whizzez o here,
I just got myself a new pc and this morning on my return from a vey late morning jog I caught my incredibly hot str8 flatmate on my pc, he apologized and tried to sell me some story about a math programme he wanted to use, yeah rite, thats why the site history was erased and the recently-opened documents folder emptied[-X ..

now how can I trace what sites had been visited and what stuff downloaded while i was not looking, I know you guys will know of a way...I should think of gettin a spycam too, what yall think?
 
If he didn't clear them out, you can check the browser history and the temporary internet files (C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files). Sort by date / time.
 
Do you think he was on there just for porn or also to snoop around? Does he know you're gay or do you think he's trying to find out? I'd put a boot up password thing on the computer if you're worried about him using it again.
 
for future reference - set the screensaver at like 3 minutes and password protect it.
 
Have a look in the cookies folder if there are some there open the most recent with notepad and among the garbage is the address in plain text.
 
Also, since the PC is new, I'm guess it runs XP. I recommend locking it if you go out of the house and want to leave it on. If you don't know how to do this, let me know and I'll talk you through it. :)
 
You could try navigating to kinky straight sites or sites that, if he knows you have been there will elicit a response and then you can call him on that. Like "you couldn't have known that if you wern't spying on me I set you up dude"
 
I would never let anyone into my house if I didn't have password protection on my computer. Go to Control Panel and specify a logon password. He won't be able to use it again.
 
I always cleared my history and kept anyhting I downloaded hidden in folders within folders of obscure crap.
 
Hey ou guys are wonderful, thanks for all the helpful response, although I hav not been successful in finding any evidence of pornsites visited while I was gone. Firstly and oddly enough I cannot locate the temporay internet file, not only on my pc but on another I use a work as well, I could however read from the "computer management" < "administrative tools" < control panel that he was on bten 7.20 920min afte i left) until 9.26 which i s really when I got back, but the info from there such as event id number ia all gibbrish to me, whats more is that afte going though the rubbish in the cookies folder none of the times that he had logged on appeared at all...mhhh, ..now i know e guilty of sumthn but damn he seems to have gone thru some effort hiding his tracks, still thank ou guys


To answer some of your questions, ...yes he knows Im gay, and Im not sure if he came to snoop, stael some loose change which I let him steal smetimes when I know he is out of cash to buy his weed 9the only illegal substance I know he uses) and noh I would not like to code-secue it as I would really like to catch him hopefully with his pants down nexttime*|* (!) ...but realty check, may be its just safer to lockup and protect myself from nasty viruses and him erasng some unbookmarked data in the future
 
Just one further thought if you want to see if he has opened any of your files then go to c:documents and settings/your name/recent documents you'll need to have show hidden folders enabled: tools, folder options, view, check hidden files and folders. Then you'll at least have a list of any files on computer he has opened. Might be fun to leave some porn easy to find and see if he opens it :D
 
Wow nwdavis I see a whole new market opening up for reinforced finger condoms. Imagine the frustration of not being able to access your porn because of a damaged finger :grrr: Just joking:D
 
call me a hippy, but i let either of my roommate use any of my computers, whenever they want. i use linux on my server, my desktop and my laptop so i know that they won't be able to fuck anything up without my permission.

but if you DO wanna stop someone from using your computer without you knowing. be sure to set up a screensaver password AND a bios password.

the screen saver password won't protect you if the computer get's rebooted; but a bios password will.
