*Sniff my keyboard being horrid

For some reason my keyboards F Keys aren't working, I've tried different keyboards but they all worked the same in that every key works except the Fkeys... I've tried finding out why but I can't make heads nor tails of anything i read, anyone have any suggestions?

I installed an old game made for win 95 (I have xp). It did the same thing, but different keys, q, z and some others. After I finished the game and deleted it, the keyboard went back to normal. It may or may not be whats wrong with your system. Just an idea.

Get a new keyboard... and maybe a matching mouse.

if he has tried other keyboards and they are doing the same thing...i don't think it's the keyboard and surely the F lock on all the keyboards isn't messed up. my F lock button has to be on in order to use my F keys. If i recall...there is also a setting in my BIOS that turns on and off F keys. is it possible that his BIOS has for some reason shut off his F keys?

EHEM, people... if he's tried different keyboards and the F-Keys don't work on EVERY one, it's obviously not a bad keyboard...

I'm gonna second noelie on the F-Lock, sounds exactly like that to me... or something far worse... what that would be i dunno.

Mike, F-Lock can be set by software, so if he activated it accidentally, it may not revert just because u try a different keyboard, or reboot.

well...i would reboot and double check but all freaking week i've been trying to use torrents to get knoppix 5.2. but it's only downloading at 4 KB/s.

i'm only a modest torrent user. knoppix 5.2 came out only in germany apparently. i've been patiently awaiting version 5.2.1 (which the knoppix web site says is the next public release. But it also says it will likely be out in April 2007. So here we are 1/2 way through May so I tried to see if anyone was seeding 5.2. a few were like 4. so i started downloading last sunday. i'm still downloading. i'm at 91.6% of 4.3 gb ISO. i'm still only downloading between 3-4 KB/s. it's claimed it has 1 day or so for like 3 days. so i don't know if over night or sometimes during the day when i'm at work it just stops or what. but... i'm patient. i'll keep waiting.

i figured i knew what you typed meant, but I had to google it to make sure.
