I like the long-hair & robes... and a nice pair of sandals is a must during the summer

I got asked by a friend the other day;

Have you found Jesus?

"Yes!" was my reply, "He was behind the sofa the whole time."

Jesus isnt my personal lord and savior, but i do admire his work :p

I smile when my Christian customers ask my name and then say "Jesus loves you." I thank them (as any good Catholic would do), and then poray they don't ruin the moment by saying something offensive after. Regardless, it's nice to see people sharing something they care about in a kind manner. that's what the "Christian duty to the world" is, really.

I dunno, the whole problem I've had with the story ever since I was a kid was.......... If I had all the power of god... I wouldn't let my child get tourtured and kill the way Jesus was. Because I knew for a fact my father (who was an English Teacher at the time) woudn't allow that to happen to me. But to each his own.

If only "some Christians want us to follow Jesus" . . . what do the rest of the Christians want us to do?

Well, I can't speak for everyone (I'd love to with what I have to say, though), but this Christian wants you to keep being the kind people you all are inside.

And, isn't that Jesus' teaching? So, aren't you, as a Christian, asking us to follow the teachings of Christ? (Don't give me that fundamentalist, extremist Christian crap that the people who would excuse Islamic extremists would state at this point, please.)

Let me ask it another way: If a Christian doesn't want us to follow Christ or the teachings of Jesus, what would he/she want us to follow?

I love Jesus.

he's a cool dude. But some people took his message way too far....

lol

like mohamend and budda, he was an avatar of God

but like both of those two,
his message got all confuddled

*shurgs*

he is really is a sweetheart though
plus he had a gay friend, "John the Beloved"

I was merely advocating being nice and not roam the Earth trying to deliberately hurt everyone else. It's also the teaching of Mohammed, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, and a whole host of others.

FRIENDS: You're not being funny! We don't like being ridiculed for what we are, or the choices we have made. Turnabout is fair play. Not all Gays are mean-sprited; most of them are decent folks who don't deserve the catch phrases with which they are condemned. Christians are no different and, if you will seek them out you might just discover that some of them have some pretty clear and helpful ideas on what's needed today.

Many of the Christians I know are very supportive of Gays; that, of course, is particularly true of those who are both Christian and Gay!!!!!!!

One simply isn't entitled to make fun of people that way. Disagree, friends, but be respectful

I think a lot of people are out of touch with Jesus. And he's not white.

It's alright, Conrad. Most of the people here are just being glib. There are kind, open-minded christians out there, but a lot of 'christians' that gay people know about are intolerant loony-bins. The disrespect that is there in some cases comes from self-defence. It's not wholly right to pigeonhole, but it's understandable.

I'm both Catholic and gay and have no trouble reconciling the two. It's a pity so many christians can't reconcile being 'christian' and tolerant.

i guess they are trying hard... he is already working with the FBI

I LOVE that picture! No wonder outdoor advertising is such a big business -- they're all trying to shout each other down.

I think if Jesus was here today.....he'd be a pot smoker.

Conrad, like every other group of people, a stereotype exists and the ignorant generalize everyone accordingly. Actually, there's something of a parallel here: Christians and homosexuals get bad raps for being who they are, and even to the point of being killed for it.
