...Vanessa Carlton??! I like em both, even though the latter artist has let me down with her 3rd release, but I'm just wondering;

What the hell is an R&B artist and a Pop artist doing on a "strictly dickly soul' artist record label???!

Are they trying to broaden their horizons or something??! Last I knew, Mya did marketable R&B/Pop, not soul. And don't get me started on my Nessa...

What the hell??!

Am I the only one left rather confused??! Fill me in please!!

:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

This album came out on Motown Records in 1986.

Oh, geez. I'm sure that Bruce couldn't sing to save his whole family's lives!!

LOL :badgrin::badgrin::badgrin:

Unless that was a joke. :rolleyes:

Definitely not a joke. Bruno's attempt at a music career was highly publicized.

Motown also released the original Broadway cast album of Pippin.

Not at all. Motown signed Bruce Willis to their label in 1985. The above album (mainly a lazy collection of soul covers) reached #14 on the album chart, and the first single (a version of the Staple Singers' "Respect Yourself") got to #5.

So who's "Bruno"? Bruce's singing alter-ego. Long before Mariah freed Mimi, and before there was a Vicki Valentine (let alone an Ashlee Simpson)...there was Bruno.

Another crime against humanity. :)

Well technically Vanessa is on The Inc. records....Irv Gotti signed her...that's just an imprint of Motown. He loved "A Thousand Miles" and he knew it as the song from "White Chicks" or whatever that crappy Wayans Bros. movie was.

I cant wait for Mya's new album!!

I bought Vanessa's new one yesterday and cant stop listening to it!
