so far a great beginning....you've grabbed my attention and now i want more so keep this rolling cuz i can see this will turn into something great!
 
Means subs. Named benchwarmer cause they spend large parts of matches on the bench. Warming it. With their bottoms. Just a name for a sub.

Probably use it to refer negatively to a sub, or one who doesn't get a lot of play time. But not really used in football here in England no.
