Today I was at McDonald's drive thru and when I got the window to pay for my meal the person who was at the cashier said that the person in front of me paid for my meal and the other 4 cars as well and said to have a merry christmas. I said to the cashier thank you and as I was leaving I said to myself that was very nice of someone to do that so basically I got a free meal :luv:

Has anyone ever paid for your meal?

Sadly not, my mum did get £12.50 in shopping wiped off her til receipt when the local Scotmid store first opened.

yes and i have returned the favor for a few others. ( pay it forward)

I had my kid’s meal and mine paid for at a Taco Bell by the car in front of us. Our bill was only like $12. It was a Friday night after a football game and the car behind me was filled with 6-8 teenage guys that had a very distinct aroma coming from their car and I heard the order. There’s was no way I was paying it forward that one, it would have broke me

My mom had one pay it forward to her all she was picking up was a kids meal for my niece. They told her it was going on for 3 hours. She was like I don’t care. I want to pay for the kids meal and nothing else. They still gave her the free meal but she killed off the 3 hour pay it forward. My mom is like 70 she didn’t get it. She thought it was some kind of scam.

Yes, most recently at the IHOP in Las Vegas after a night at the nearby Las Vegas Eagle. Such a nice surprise.

And in Nov. 2019 in San Jose. Is this a western thing?

A friend and i went to McDonalds and the car in front of us paid for our meal and we did the same for the car behind us.

My partner paid for my dinner last night. We eat out a couple of times a week and take turns to pay.

Many decades ago my first LTR partner's parents always paid when they took us out for meals together. :D

I have paid for other peoples meal. One time I went to lunch and I heard this lady talking to someone on her phone and she was telling the person what a terrible day she was having. She was also on a wheelchair. When the waitress game me my bill I told her to add the lady's bill to mine and I paid it up. Another time I was at the dollar store and I paid for the five people behind me, they were all very grateful.

I have paid for others but have not had anyone pay mine. It wasn't so much a pay it forward as surprising a young couple obviously in love on a date, or covering the tab for someone who was obviously panhandling for enough change to eat.

A couple of years ago I went to Perkins to treat myself for breakfast. When the waitress was serving me I commented that today was my birthday. When the time came for me to get the bill the waitress said that someone had heard me and had already paid for my bill. That was a nice birthday present.

About a decade ago my partner and I ran into the parents of former clients of mine dining with friends. We spoke to them for a few minutes and then proceeded to our table across the room. At the close of our meal we asked our waiter for the check and he responded that our meal had been paid for by the couple we had spoken to earlier. As we left we stopped by their table to thank them. The husband said they wanted to thank me for all of the pleasure I had brought to everyone in his family.

Three years ago I started designing a home for this couple. They are moving in this week.

Sometimes clients give my partner and me gifts of dinner at favorite restaurants. I'll do the same for professional associates I think have been particularly helpful.

Why on earth would food have any use for money?

I really don’t get the thought behind paying it forward at a drive thru. Obviously I’m in the drive thru so I have the money to pay for my meal. Why don’t you just buy an extra meal and stop and hand it to the panhandler who’s standing at the intersection of the shopping center? And don’t get me started on the poor guy that just stopped for a coffee and feels obliged to buy a family of four breakfast because the cashier tells him the previous 50 cars have done it.

Donate to the food bank that’s providing healthy meals to hungry kids. Your $10 will go a lot further and be much more appreciated.

Don't all of you have your senior citizens discount?

*flees thread*

I wasn't expecting that to happen in a drive thru at McDonald's but it happened and I thought that was nice of someone to do
