my father has the flu or some sickness. don't know what he had but anyways, yesterday, i was falling ill. my whole entire body started to hurt me, had a really bad headache, was getting really hot at the gym. then when i came home, i felt the same thing except i started to catch the chills where i was freezing my ass off. :( decided that i would go to bed to sleep it off for some hours and while i was sleeping, i felt my legs tightening up. :bartshock anyways, i slept it off and woke back up. still was in pain BUT everything started to go away. went to bed sometime later, woke up and it's almost like nothing happened. asked my mom what it was and she said that it could have been a lack of sleep BUT i dunno. did i just divert the flu or is this something else?

What you're describing are common signs of the flu. However, the flu usually lasts about 5-7 days and is accompanied by fever.

There's several viruses going around the US right now. We're seeing a lot of people coming in complaining of flu-like symptoms but their nasal smears for influenza are negative, so it's likely to be a different virus that is responsible.

 hopefully, it isn't. it's starting to come back though. feeling a little bit of pains, chest is starting to feel tight and starting to feel congested.

I had the zombie corpse virus in December. I could have easily been convinced that my various organs were dying. I have never had anything like it; it was distinct, and memorable, and other people could relate from their own symptoms.

But all is well now.

Could be high fever or flu. If it continues for few days you should go see a doctor.

That sounds exactly like what I experienced when my former partner had mono. I was with him all the time and although I was somewhat cautious, expecting to catch it, too. But instead what you described happened and I was fine.

what's mono? is that or high fever anything serious like lupus? kind of paranoid about getting that since one of my relatives has lupus.

right now, i have a cold. :( damn.

High Fever /Hyperpyrexia is a fever with an extreme elevation of body temperature greater than or equal to 41.5 °C. My housemate got this 2 years ago, her body temp reached about 40 -41 °C one day and was immediately sent to the emergency room for help.

If you are bitten by a mosquito lately, you could have Breakbone fever. I got this last year about June and it is damn annoying. Was hospitalized for a week. Symptoms are fever that keep coming back, and loss of appetite, flu and body pain. Blood test could determine if you got this disease.

I actually had fever and body pain this whole week. I keep drinking water and rest a lot, felt a bit better now.

LOL I wish I knew. I thought I was getting a scratchy throat and starting a common cold. But I'd wake up freezing and drenched in sweat in the middle of the night. Others didn't think I felt feverish but I was travelling and didn't have a thermometer handy. I was tired. My digestion was off. It felt like my stomach was fine but nothing beyond that. Weird symptoms that would shift and come and go. And I was not the only person to complain of this.

However it let up, and I feel better now than actually through most of the autumn.

You must have an AMAZING immune system...

I remember reading that YOU have NEVER had the flu...

Is there something SPECIAL that you eat -- or a WIERD vitamin you take???

:):):)

I have a cold every now and then, most of the time just a light cold though - for example after my partner had one. It's quite rare that I have a strong cold. The last time where I was really "out" for a day was in 2008 after a rainy festival weekend. The first time I had to take antibiotics in my adult life was three years ago when I had an infection of the outer ear canal probably due to too much time at the lake ;)

And no, I don't take anything.
