Sorry People But It Is Time To Set Your Clock Back Again - Don't Forget.

Sometimes I think bears have the right idea... Eat, get fat, and then go to bed and hibernate till spring...

We should all do that. The Northern Hemisphere should hibernate and let the Southern Hemisphere run the world for six months. Then come spring, they could hibernate and let the Northern Hemisphere take over for awhile... Eventually, we might be able to clean up each other's messes and get everything back on an even keel again...

...... Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia do not have DST.
Come December, and it could at last be a goer here in WA ..... if the Bill put forward in Parliament is passed. It's almost certain to pass through the Legislative Assembly this week, but faces hurdles in the Legislative Council, where several members remain undecided.

The Bill allows a three-year daylight saving trial, beginning in December, followed by a referendum.

Fingers crossed ..... I LOVE daylight saving!! (!) (!)

I hate DST, always have.

I loved it when I lived in Indiana, and at the time most of the state did not practice DST... we never gained or lost an hour of time. Though that's changed recently. The entire state does it now. The funny thing to me is that I've always heard DST was for the farmers. Indiana has a LOT of corn and soybean crops and yet for many years most of the state did not participate in it. Only 11 out of the 92 counties did it then.

.

All this extra daylight makes the curtains fade LOL

Well that is a better comment than what your Premier stated during the week - "Queensland has enough sun already and another hour will increase the likelihood of skin cancer."

Is he for real? There should be a law against politicians making stupid comments like that.

Er, yes - I live in Victoria (Melbourne and Lorne) and that's what I mean by "my corner of the globe"! ;)

I've been trying to work it out for over an hour now - that's the hour we just lost and you gained. #-o

Dammit, Joshy, buy a new clock! ..|

PS: Here's a question . . . . why no abject apology from Croynan for his wretched faux pas?

"Spring Forward, Fall Backwards"

IF you want to gain an extra hour in the day, you have to relive the last hour you just experienced.

So at the bar, which normally closes at 2AM, they turn their clocks back from 2AM to 1AM and they get to stay open an extra hour and you get to dance all over again from 1 - 2AM untill they close for real.

I tried to explain it in Gay terms.

Wonderful!

I meant to have an extra hour of zzzzz's but my body clock told me otherwise and I've had an extra hour of being awake instead.

And actually I've quite enjoyed it. ..|

STOP PRESS!! STOP PRESS!! STOP PRESS!!

The Bill is in its final stages of debate in the Legislative Council as I type this, but the latest news is that it is almost certain to be passed. YES!!!!!! (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!)

Now that we're halfway thru the month of November, you'd think some folks who are responsible for "outdoor" clocks would have made the necessary DST adjustments by now. <wrong> Apparently their clocks are merely decorative and not to be taken seriously.
They seem to be in league with those who display political campaign signs on their property long after the elections are over.
Yep: off-topic.
I apologize. Had to get in my monthly rant. :grrr:
