Well,I'm an out and proud Spelling Queen!

Well, on behalf of the grammar nazis....

Spelling is not a major issue, so long as most of the word is correct.

For example, in the rush of typing you may hit an extra key or two and not notice:

For could become foire and on wards and so forth...

As long as the grammar is alright, we can assume that word you meant to type was for.

So, seems we have two groups: Spelling Queens and Grammer Nazis...

Anyone else think we should arrange a spelling bee? Winner gets Poland.[-X

I don't correct people's spelling, I don't care for spelling really.

My job is preparing non-English speakers for American universities. They realize that spelling does count. Here, particularly when we can't see each other in person, things such as spelling and grammar are some of the only clues we have as to whether other posters are really intelligent or airheads. I know that your sense of entitlement convinces you that you can do whatever you want with language, but I also know that having many spelling errors makes you look ignorant.

And after a few years can we have France and the Netherlands as well?

..... but if only those Americans would spell like the rest of us .... then we could colour the world together and be great neighbours. It doesn't matter how well travelled they are, they still insist on packing their jewellery items in the centre of their luggage before boarding an aeroplane. That way they have their hands free to carry on board their duty free liquour. Get the point.#-o

What is this strange pain I have in my belly?

I wonder why people don't use the Spell Check feature

more often. Is it a case of apathy?

For all the annoying people who complain about spelling (No offense if you're one of them) I officially give you the name "Spelling Queen". And that goes for everyone one in every message board, not just this one.

I'm so smart, I wouldn't be suprised if the phrase spreads so far that it makes it into the dictionary in 10 years.

What does "everyone one in" mean??

I'm not a real tickler for spelling but I am a queen.

Queen of the 1975 Milk Cow festival. I was a looker back in the day.

There is another thread going about at the moment...and in both I would say that the spelling/grammar police piss me off the most.
