Steam now for MacOS/Portal now for free

I lost my Steam account I got real bored with Valve being fucking morons. They are such Microsoft fan boys that they totally dis PS3 and not develop games for them because their coding is different. I pretty much boycott Valve and Steam, I already have Portal for PS3 so this might be great for some who don't own Portal but I will probably pass on this.

as much as i appreciated the move - i hate that stupid "you have to log in an stay online to play offline games" mentality, and I won't start supporting that now, either.

They just ported steam (+some games) to Mac and your calling them Microsoft fanboys/girls. Yeah, they are totally Microsoft fanboys/girls.

Also, it's silly to have a grudge on a company because they won't port to your specific console.

I've never been forced to be online to play any of the games on my steam account. You do have to log in, but you don't need to be online for the most part.

Anyways

It's now quite tempting to switch to Mac now after I found this out. I just wish their hardware was up to snuff that most PC gamers are used to though. :(

yeah and they have an offline mode ... at least they used to when i tested it many years ago ;)

but still .. if i buy a game, i want to use it how i want. if i buy a song i want to play it whenever and wherever i want.
i want to be in control. and that's what they're taking away. watch ubisoft's newest "invention" .. there you really need to be online all the time while you're playing ..

At the time they did, I'm not talking about now, but them making Left 4 Dead for 360 and PC was more of a big clue. They could of easily ported it for PS3 but they didn't.

You see all these other companies that port games from 360 to PS3 easily, and its so difficult for Valve? Think of the money they could be pulling in if they did it on both systems. They do seem to have a grudge against PS3 for making a half ass Orange Box and leaving EA to try to fix THEIR problems and glitches.

we have a word for that feeling that you get when watching this video: fremdschämen (feeling ashamed for someone else)

how dense can you be? aaaah .. "uh i need to place the game in a library? yeah sure that's where i would put a game". sure .. that's also where fucking iTunes places your songs  or iPhoto ..

"uuh the product is hidden by the application itself". you mean .. like i NEED to use iTunes when all what I want is throw some mp3s on an iPod?

steam shouldn't start when the computer starts? well guess what let's look back at iTunes .. oops starting three services. without asking you ..

and then *gasp* something that initializes a 3D enviroment does change the color palette .. unbelievable :rotflmao:

i hope this video gets never deleted, it will be my prime reference about macheads that are far far away from reality :)

Why? He had some valid arguments. No game should change the desktop colours (or resolution, which happens a lot on my WinXP system and then I can adjust all the window sizes again...).

Let's look at what the IE does.

^ err .. some games *need* to do that while they are running. if you run them in windowed mode it will have a result on the rest. but usually you don't do that.
