I have a bunch of questions that I couldnt find the answers to online or in the stickied threads.

how long does it usually take to get ready to bottom?
all I used was warm water and this syringe/bulb thing

I have been told that we're supposed to squeeze water into with the bulb and then purge...and then repeat until the water that comes out is clear...well this took me like 12 repeats/1 hour...is it supposed to take this long?

also for some reason my stomach kind of hurts now...like it started kind of hurting by the 7th "rinse" ...is this normal? or is it just bc it was my first time? its just kind of a dull pain but its lasted for quite a while

also I missed out on hooking up bc it took me so long to get ready. oh well.

also is it possible to use too much water? is it possible that I stuck the syringe too far up? its about 1.5 inches I guess.

In the stickies in the "All About Anal" section, there's some information on basic anatomy and the "Enema Controversy".

Basically, if you're going to do an enema, you're doing the equivalent of a vaginal douche or gargling with mouthwash- you only need to clean the rectum and the anus- just 6 inches... not the entire 6 foot large intestine.

This is where a lot of people get confused between an enema that would be given "until clear" in the hospital before a procedure on the colon vs a douche of the rectum to clean mucus and any extra feces.

But if you read through the stickies about the subject, most guys really don't need to do anything because under normal circumstances, there's no poop looming in the anus/rectum. If there were, you would feel like you need to poop.

In the controversy discussion, the recommendation is to only do an enema if you have IBS, if you stick your finger in and there's poop there or if you're just so hungup on the poop thing that an enema will help get rid of the fear that you're going to have an accident. That enema only needs to be 1-2 runs of a syringe enema (like Fleets) and a wipe with soap and a washcloth (or a bathroom wetwipe).

No enemas until clear. No shower hose attachments. No bucket enemas. Unless of course, the person has an enema fetish...

oh i wasnt planning on using an enema or any sort of chemicals...just plain warm tap water

I think the pains were from gas now that I think about it...is it possible to have gas/air build up from the cleanup process or something? not to sound gross but I kind of felt better after I let the gas out

it still bothers me that it took me like 12 rinses to get clear

You may have squeezed air into your colon when you douched. When you fill the syringe, it doesn't fill completely. So, you will need to squeeze out the air, then continue filling with water to remove all the air.

The amount of time it takes to douche depends on the method used and how dirty you are inside. Also, you can over douche. You will get the shit flowing, literally, if you put too much water in your colon. How much water does the syringe hold?

I have used several methods to douche. I am having the best results with an anal douche bulb. Usually about three rinses and I'm clean.

The nozzle on my douche bulb is six inches long. So, no you did not stick the syringe in too far.

the box says 8 mL capacity.
I think I may have overdouched...but how do you know when to stop?
cuz the shit literally did actually did start flowing midway...

by the time I got the water to come out clear, I was so exhausted I wasnt even in the mood for sex anymore :/

Carl, something is not right; 8 ml converts to less than an ounce. However, it does sound like you over douched.

I am thinking you put too much water in your rectum which got the shit in your colon to flow. So, it never ran clear.

woops I misread the box I meant 8oz (237mL) sorry

I never knew cleaning would so complicated lol...should I just squeeze in like half of the bulb's water instead?

also I dont know if this needs to be taken into consideration, Im kind of a short dude...and if I were doing it with a guy with a bigger dick...wouldnt that lead to a messy situation if I didnt clean the colon too?

That is not too much water if you are voiding your rectum with each insertion. Are you lying down or standing up?

I am standing up and bending over slightly to insert the douche bulb. Once all the water is in, I void my rectum into the toilet. It takes about three flushes for the water to run clear.

No, you don't need to clean anymore than the rectum unless you are being fucked with a guy with a 12-inch cock. Between your butt muscles and the position, the top in only getting a few inches inside you.

I was crouching over the toilet bowl when I did it.
and I did void with each insertion :/

the guy was 9 inches...which in retrospect was a probably a bad idea seeing as how I cant even prepare/get ready properly haha

Read carefully what mbamike has said. Then take a look at the picture in the All About Ass sticky.

Always keep in mind that you're just emptying the anus and rectum.

If you use more to much water at one time or if you repeatedly douche, the water doesn't all come out. The colon has a lot of twists and bends and when you overdouche, two things happen- the water gets trapped in the colon (and is more likely to make an appearance at the worst possible times) and the irritation to the colon is more likely to make your bowel move.
