OK, amidst all this gay porn, and guys in the forums waxing politics to no end, I decided to stop the perusing and focus on what really matters today....FOOTBALL. And by football, I mean college football. And by that I mean, the University of Utah Utes. Yeah, go ahead and throw in your "My Cousin Vinny" quip about "what're youths" (pronounced "utes" by the late Herman Munster actor, Fred Gwyn). But I digress.
It is the Sugar Bowl, and this is another BCS-buster team that is attempting to make history by defeating (hopefully) a well-known team, Alabama. It's halftime right now, so the adrenaline is still pumping after an amazing first half. Utah owned the first quarter, scoring three TD's! Alabama had a field goal, but they did put up 7 in the second quarter. I am hoping Utah regroups, knowing that Alabama is beginning to show some life.
For those of you unfamiliar with Utah's conference, they are in the Mountain West. They are not part of the WAC, but did break away some years ago; taking with them BYU, Wyoming, Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico and San Diego State. The MWC also added TCU and UNLV to the conference. Anyway, it is the youngest conference, but it does boast a competitive field.
I am excited to see Utah playing so well, and hope they remember there are four quarters in football. Alabama is already chipping away that handsome lead, so I hope Utah can remain playing tough, but smart football. So now, back to the game......Go Utes!
