I tried to have this hot Egyptian guy who is a friend of a former friend teach me, but I think he got the hint.

I'd love to surf. It doesn't seem too complicated or simple. Challenges are nice.

Surfing is something that I would love to try. I'm looking at getting a long board. My brother said that he would teach me how to surf. We'll see. Maybe next summer since this summer is almost over.....

I started a year ago and love it! Now I'm also doing the stand up paddle board (separate thread here!)...

I don't surf but, in the past couple of years, I've been feeling the "call". My will and wish to learn to surf has been increasing quite a lot. It's something I really want to do learn to do in the near future.

Surfing is great. I'm not that great but I feel comfortable paddling out and standing up. Still need to get maneuvering the board from side to side though.

The thing is to stick with it. It's a lot of work just to get to the beach, bring your board, put on your wetsuit, and get out to the waves, and after your first time, trust me you won't want to go out again. But if you stick with it and are persistent, riding your first wave can be a very rewarding experience.

Good luck to you and make sure you have someone hot teaching you...its more of an incentive.

Body surf only.

I don't know if its all the stuff on tv these days about sharks, but I'm a little scared these days to go to far out in the ocean.

Oh man, I'm not very sporty or anything, but I really want to learn this too!

I'm probably moving to Japan this year to teach english. I hear they have a lot of surfing there (island nation after all)
