The Beginning Of The New
surge you know I wubs ya,but we always bump heads on reality stuff..
Tina - Tina won for the same reasons that Yul did. Colby dominated challenge after challenge (I believe he won all of the individual challenges except for one) and the jury vote was 4-3. Everyone recognized Colby's exceptional ability to win physical challenges, but Survivor is more than a physical game. It is a social game as well and as much as people admired Colby, they respected the fact that Tina managed to get to the final 2 without ruffling many feathers. She was a mother when a mother was needed, she was a friend when one was needed and she had Colby so under her finger that he voted out Keith who he surely would have won against. Tina never received a vote against her for the entire season, while Colby received several. Keep in mind that most of these comments were made by the jury..this isn't my assumption of what happened.
Vecepia - I am not a major fan of Vecepia, but again..based on things the jury said after the game. Vecepia was against Neleh in the final two and Neleh remarked during the jury's questions that she 'didn't start playing the game until the merge' when she had to. Before that she kept telling everyone that she didn't care when she was voted out as long as she made it to the jury. Vecepia played from day 1 and was a GIANT underdog...the tribe she originally belonged to Maraamu lost every challenge (immunity and reward) until the tribes were shuffeled. The jury also felt that Neleh was too young to appreciate winning the game. She was only 21 at the time and Vecepia was well into her 30's.
Sandra - Sandra is another player whose game I don't really respect, but she has a valid win. Her strategy was to look like a weak player (according to her interviews) she never wanted to be seen as a threat to anyone and as a result, she like Tina received zero votes to kick her out of the game. Many of the players remarked that she constantly said she will give a vote to whoever needs one 'as long as it's not me going home'. This was also part of her strategy. Sandra lied a million times during the game, manipulating Jonny Fairplay and Burton leading them to their eventual kick-offs. I will admit that it was lucky that she ended up with Lil in the final two as many of the cast swore they would never vote for an 'outcast' to win the game.
