Yeah, only two lines of singing in the trailer, but I seem to remember the very first trailer for Hairspray having even less than that. Still, I think the trailer looks GOOOOOD, and I can't wait for the movie!!

I just saw it on Youtube and it looks kickass. Although I wish there was more singing in it, but I still can't wait. Also IMHO Helena looks beautiful as Mrs. Lovett

The good thing though is that it looks like it's got an R rating. Apparently the big wigs wanted to cut down on the gore to make it more appealing to fans of the Priates trilogy. That would've been crazy.

I loved Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and I liked The Corpse Bride (although it wasn't as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas).

I had intended to make a thread about this, because I was so pissed about the lack of singing in the trailer.

I get the movie studios' point when they do this, but it's still silly.

I just hope it isn't because the leads do a crappy job with the singing.

Well Stephen Sondheim had approval on the casting and they all had to perform in front of him before he approved them. I doubt he would've approved people who couldn't sing. I'm sure he wouldn't want his reputation ruined by a movie adaptation of one of his shows with really crappy singing.
