Sweet Dreams

I think her last creative video was 'Deja Vu'.

Her last creative video was when she had those other two backup chicks with her years ago. It was called Survivor and the video actually had a story to go along with the song. Other than that, Beyonce and her team have always been creatively-challenged; unfortunately, Deja Vu falls under that umbrella as well. Although there was a reason given, it was just a random collection of shots thrown together and called a video.

the track is so addictive i love it so much the video is okay i guess anyway the queen is still the queen gotta love her lol

She really never was that creative/revolutionay in the first place. When she's not coming up with her own ideas, she sits on youtube or swagger jacks somebody else. I do love the song though.

This song beats it by a mile.

Hell, THIS song beats it by a mile.

The odd thing is that, in that video, Beyonce looks like she's trying to create a hit via will-to-power. As if she REALLY works hard on this video, we won't notice that there's no song there. Maybe it'll work for some people, but not for me.

Ah, thank you for those wonderful memories, Lex. I loved Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. Of course, as usual, Beyonce covers it in her live shows as well when she performs her Sweet Dreams, but I prefer the original.

Although, I will say, I thought her "If I Were A Boy" video was really good and well done.

I have to side with reone here, I think the Deja Vu video (and the song) is the best one Beyonce came out with in her entire solo career. I loved the frenetic mood and raw sexual aggression throughout the video, it's rare you see Bee act in such a way off-stage.

I'm just shocked that so many of her fans loathe that video so much.

Personal preferences aside, there was very little creativity in the video. It was so random. On the positive side, the video showcased more of her dancing ability.

Song wise I think its her best from I am...
I liked her using a theme an low budget esque dance videos. but this one is just plain cheesy. and the dancing is very sub par. Plus her blonde hair is just plain AWFUL

Okay Lex How are you gonna compare "Sweet Dreams" by air supply to Sweet Dreams By Beyonce? especially when they are two different genere's of music. Compared to a lot of artists out today, I think Beyonce is extremely talented. Everyone hold's this girl at such a high standard it's ridiculous, you can't please everyone. Is it the best video ever created? no, but I tell you this much it beats having her in the club with an entourage of dancers, with bottles of moet being waived in the air. Britney Spears has impersonated Janet Jackson and Madonna for years and you all sucked it up and loved it, and at one point she even tried to channel her inner Alicia Keys, by playing the piano in the "I"m not a girl, not yet a woman video", man whatever!

Uhh Alica Keys isn't the first person to sing and play the piano, especially not in music videos. Britney never impersonated Madonna or Janet. She made one music video where she danced on a chair and now you want to call it impersonation. Then by that logic you can all Mya, JLO, Ciara, and Beyonce that. Britney says countless times how much she's inspired by Madonna, and so she uses some of her concepts but makes them her own. Beyonce on the other hand will steal ideas of other artists and won't give credit to no one.

Did I offend so much that NY actually left JUB? And do I bother answering now that he's gone? Ah well.

First off, "Sweet Dreams" by Air Supply isn't a good song. It isn't even a good Air Supply song, in my book. But I still think it's better than the Beyonce track. Yes, they're different genres, but the Air Supply song - despite its faults - I feel is still a better 80s AC ballad than the Beyonce is a good 00s dance track.

Secondly (assuming you were still talking to me by the second half of your post), I have no idea where you get the idea that I'm a Britney Spears fan. Like Beyonce, she's put out a handful of catchy singles, but that's about all I'll say in her defense.

Thirdly, I know that in the pop field, it's rare that the artist have much say in the music video. They might suggest this or that, and they might green-light things, but the ideas and execution are mainly the job of the director. Generally, a director is hired, he gives his pitch, he may get a thumbs-up from the artist (although it's much more likely a "sure whatever"), and the video gets shot. One might love a particular video for a song by a particular artist, but that artist rarely deserves much (if any) of the applause for said video.

Fourthly, my comments were not dissing Beyonce directly. One might actually consider them a back-handed compliment. I found the song quite dull and pro forma, and it wouldn't have surprised me to see Beyonce turn in a performance to match. Instead, she seemed almost overly eager in the video. But it didn't make me like the song anymore. Intstead, it just put me in the mind of an overeager salesman pushing his slow-selling product.

You know what though, Britney or any of these girls give their credit to Janet...Britney is more Janet than Madonna in many ways
