I do it all the time like when I'm depressed because I'm still in the closet. My best friend still doesn't know I'm gay and i don't know how he will take it like I've said something that i have gay friends and he said he has no problem with it but one time when we were drunk he was saying "i hate gay people". So i don't know if it was the alcohol talking or what. He's moving out to California in a few months and ill be moving out there a little bit after him (we are both 18 btw). Should i tell him before he leaves or what?

One of my friends that I have met at school is pretty bigoted but only when he's drunk. He is a really nice guy sober and my solution to the problem is to not hang out with him when he gets drunk.
Sure I subconsciously know he is still a bigot, but we get along well and that is what matters.

Tell him.

Let the chips fall where they may.

If you see him again after he moves, ask him why he 'hates' gay people.

He sounds fucked up whether he's drunk or not. Surely you can do better for friends.

Thanks its July now and it turns out that he didn't care but he treated me like shit as a friend anyways. So i am no longer friends with him and i have my life straight; I've recently come out and its going great! I've had a couple shocking reactions because people wouldn't believe that I'm gay. Thanks for everyone's replies

Sorry to hear about the friend, but congratulations on the coming out and the good response!

He's moving to California and he hates gay people?
