Tammy Faye finally let go and died a bit ago. Bless her heart. She was one of the
few public "Christians" who loved and supported gay people. She helped bring us some peace, now she is at peace......

i had the pleasure of meeting her once, she was in Target, near her home in NC. she was a very nice and beautiful person, we talked for almost an hour, she treated me as if she had known me my whole life. I"m glad she is at peace

Tammy Faye was one of the most recognizable figures in America. She bravely went through a public scrutiny and humiliation that few of us will ever face.

Her agony with cancer, a private matter for many people, was very public.

And through it all, she held her head up high, choosing to take the "high road" in all of her dealings.

She was positive right until the end. Say what you will about her, but she was a shining example of a Christian. She lived, she stumbled, asked forgiveness, and lived a good life doing the Lord's work.

She was a class act.

RIP Tammy Faye Messner....you earned your angel wings!

I remember the first time I saw the PTL bible my grandmother got when she made her "offering"/payment to the club. I was kinda sick at my stomach, but also glad that somehow, with the loss of her husband, my grandfather, the death of their business, with his sudden death, and the lack of mobility due to a sudden stroke caused by such stress that she was able to find some comfort, and something to believe in that offered her peace. Tammy Faye, was like an angel, to so many people. Not me, but to so many believers. I actually am thankful for the peace she gave to so many. I hope her family is finally able to rest and recover. They lost a valuable asset, and a great relationship. Thank you Tammy for your open nature, and your honesty. May you rest in peace!

I'd have to hate someone to wish them cancer. And even then I don't think I'd wish it on them. I just want to have nothing to do with the person.

Having written that, I do have to admit that I do hark back to the late-1980s with Tammy Faye Bakker Messner and the scandal of her then-husband, the former Reverend Jim Bakker, and the criminality of what occurred.

I figured Jim was mostly responsible; but someone can correct me if need be.

Looking at her final interview on Larry King Live, after news of Tammy's death made the rounds, it's flabbergasting that she even did that last interview. It's strange and frightful -- and astonishing.

Yes, bless her soul...she was real to the public. Rest in Peace Tammy.

There is a difference between what Christianity teaches and how some distort and betray that teaching. Moral perfection is not integral to our Faith. Forgiveness and redemption are. Requiescat in pace.

I worked at KB toys in Charlotte NC some years ago she used to come in and buy presents for her grandchildren. she was such a loving woman and was a joy to know. my heart broke when i sw her on larry king... its the first time i openly wept over a person in the public eye . i am so happy she has found peace and that she can now be free to soar. i challenge you all to do this...call someone you care for or email them and tell them how you feel ...do this and you will see how the love and positive energy flows through the world

Yes, Tammy Faye was a wonderful person. I hope she is at peace and all the good things she's done will be rewarded to her. I would have liked to have known her...

Jim

I can't even look at a picture of her without bursting out in tears. She was a beautiful person and truly one of gods children. She was a true christian.

i was shocked when i founded out that she died, if there is one thing that i will always remember her for is her eyelashed, she was a beautiful person and have a huge heart!! rest in peace, may u finally find rest and sing with angels

"May she rest in peace and soar with the Angels til we meet again".

I got the honor of meeting her when she was in Palm Dessert at a Fundraiser. I must agree that she was one of the most Wonderful, Caring and Kind Women I have ever met. She had a smile that would light up a room and bring warmth to it. She always had a kind word for anyone she ever met.

:( Rest in Peace Miss Tammy Faye :(

I will never forget watching PTL(or whatever they called their show) in the morning while getting ready for elementary school. It was like the only thing on that early. I miss the 80's:( Everything was large back than.

I really thought about her more when I realized she got made up, went on Larry King while literally on her death bed at 65 pounds. Most people in the public eye would never have allowed themself to be seen like that. I admire her for that.

I also admire her because she was able to forgive Jerry Falwell. He ruined her and was a despicable human being. I was happy when he died, sad that she is gone.

Glad she will be without pain now!

"I refuse to label people," she said. "We're all just people made out of the same old dirt, and God didn't make any junk." -Tammy Faye Baker

I'm 20 years old and growing up I had always heard a lot about Tammy Faye, but didn't really get to her till she did The Surreal Life. Since then, I've ways kept up to date with what was going on in her life. She seemed like such a down to earth caring woman and so full of love for everyone.
When I heard she had cancer, I thought she would make it. She was such a strong woman that I thought she'd be able to pull through. A few months ago I saw a picture of her on ET and she looked frail, but still seemed like she could get around. The other night I turned on ET and saw footage from her from the Larry King interview and tears came to my eyes. This strong woman looked so frail and meek. I couldn't belive it was THE Tammy Faye. I watched the interview later that night and was overcome with saddness for her, but also was hopeful she'd make it through her battle. It's a shame that this sweet woman who was so full of love and life is gone. She'll be truly missed by all. RIP
