So typical...and cynical.

It's not just Target. Rite Aid closed their store in the shopping center where I bank.

And even Walmart closed their store in the Waterworks in Pittsburgh.

No fan of Target here: I didn't really like the original Stepford Wives.

But, the article is a lot of accusation with very few facts.

It compared the incident numbers, not the nature of the incidents nor their value. Reporting 100 one shoplifter events and three smash-and-grabs or mob scenes is quite differen than no mass attacks.

Additionally, the article readily admits the site has become the scene of a tent slum, so that hardly fits with Targets core demographic of middle-class mommies with babes in arms. It doesn't matter if the panhandlers attack customers or not, as the sales dry up when you're guaranteed to run the gauntlet when going to buy orange juice and tampons.

The article has an air of culture wars, of defending the crime crap that is plaguing the progressive cities that justify and encourage petty theft by various laws protecting the criminals more than the victims.

The bottom line is the bottom line. Target isn't closing the store because it was tremendously profitable, and declining sales are almost invariably tied to changing demographics. If the middle class is leaving, so are the purveyors to them.

:rotlmao: One of my favorite things that isn't really a thing. "Crime-ridden librul cities."

A lot of stores is closing down especially in bigger cities. I saw videos of people stealing a whole rack of clothing.

I felt bad for a small Pharmacy in philly people broke into the store and stole all their medications.

I don't blame the store for closing why have a store open and people going to steal?

By numbers, wage theft blows merchandise theft out the water. Why isn't the Loss Prevention Specialist in the HR office monitoring payroll? Because classism.

Maybe I'm a different kinda bij. I care more about employees being robbed of pay and benefits (such as hiring them for part time then working them juuuuuuuuuust under the amount of hours where you're required to provide benefits) than I do about some hoodlum stealing video cames and candy from Target. Then again *I'm not a capitalist simp.

*Except on Friday nights when I dress up as a domnitrax and let Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos spank me with a paddle board as I beg them "YES, YES OPPRESS ME HARDER DADDY!"
