Teen Titans to be Live Action Movie

I just read that the Teen Titans comic series will be made into a live action movie in the very near future. There aren't too many details just yet, but they did say that Nightwing would be involved and that it would be along he same lines as the latest Batman installments, a bit on the "darker" side I am assuming. Do you think this is a good thing?

I think it could be a great thing. I'm all for the "darker" style of comic book movies (like the newest Batman, X-Men, instead of the flashier SpiderMan, F4, Hulk movies, etc) but thats just me

Even though I don't know much about Teen Titans other than the cartoon, I think Nightwing would be cool, hope they involve Raven too cuz I just like her powers LoL

And I'd like to see more team-oriented comic books films too, you know?

I think it would be great!!!! As long as they based it on the George Perez/ Marv Wolfman comics from the 80's and not so much on the cartoon show.

I agree!!! I actually just re-read all the new tpb's from the 80's. I have a shit load of the comics from the 80's till now. When I was a kid I felt the Nightwing and Jericho were getting it on! They had this whole sexual thing going on. I found it very hot. I also read somewhere that the Judas Contract would be coming out as a one shot comic/animated movie. Hopefully not in the Teen Titans go style. A lot of great comic book stories came from the Teen Titans during Perez/Wolfman run. I'm a big fan.

It seems the powers that be have vetoed the following cast: robin, superboy, wondergirl/troia, kid flash/flash, and changling/beast boy -because those individuals may be involved with other films in discussion (Batman, WW, Superman, Flash, JLA, Doom Patrol). PTB have said the TT film may use Nightwing.

Not sure who would be involved if the majority of the founding members can't be in the film. Which version of the TT would the film be about?

Yes, DC is filming a number of animated movies, including The Judas Contract. I think this will either be the first or second one to be released. The Doomsday Saga will be the other early release. I can't remember where I saw it, but DC is making something like 8 animated releases over the next 18 months.

Looking forward to The Judas Contract.

Well, there's the line up they've used for the cartoons, which are probably more well known for younger audiences. If they veto Robin and Beastboy, that still leaves Starfire (your typical busty ho who 'fights stereotypes by being superstrong, among other things), Raven (your dark, emo loner), and Cyborg (tech SFX/CG wonderland, Black character), Nightwing (your brooding, too serious white alpha male), and all you need is a lighthearted jokester who isn't Beastboy.

Nightwing isn't "serious". He's a male-whore (seriously, he dated Huntress, Starfire, Barbara Gordon, Tarantula and Lizzie at the SAME time...) who has a wise-ass personality. Completely the opposite of Batman.

They're probably going to use the original TT lineup. Minus Aqualad....

Keep in mind that there's Jericho (great SFX potential, AND limited dialogue, as well as a interesting nod to the handicapped), Speedy/Arsenal (weapon potential), Lilith (telepath), Malcom (teleportation + sonic beam), Bumblebee (which would also tie it into the cartoon), Hawk and Dove (pick your version), Damage (potential threat and he has a biohazard symbol on his chest!), Rose Wilson (battle skills+precog), Kid Devil (angst! more angst!), Kid Crusader, and a few other characters, depending on how much they want to make an interesting team or even have the two seperate teams...

Dang. I wonder which Doom Patrol they will end up using...Some of the characters (such as Bumblebee and Vox) could be eliminated as they would be part of the new DP...

They can't use the original lineup. Most of the characters are reserved for other projects. Robin, Wondergirl, Troia, Kid Flash, Flash, Superboy, Beast boy/Changeling are arll tied to other projects and the Powers that Be have stated no version of these characters will appear in a TT movie.
