Hey guys, So I know I need to go to the doctors and am planning on making an appointment next week. One of my testicles is really tender.. and it is making it difficult to do anything intimate.. Ive tried feeling for a lump but i cant find one, but that might be because it is tender and I am not being thorough. I am pretty worried since my dad had testicular cancer and alot of men in my family have had cancer.... I was just wondering if anyone has had this before. It has been tender for a couple days?

It happens occasionally and will last for 1-2 days if its a torsion thing for me, try having a nice warm bath if you have one, then wear some loose fitting underwear for a while.

Occasionally though I have had some nasty cold and flu like virus' that have ended up giving me sore wedding tackle, and slightly swollen for that matter. it subsided with some ibuprofen, cool baths and rest (took 2-4 days).

Still have a warm or cool bath/shower and relax. if it hasn't subsided by tomorrow afternoon then make a plan to see the doctor.

Call your doctor. I doubt you'll have to make an appointment, they'll say "get in here." If it is torsion, they try to treat that asap. Don't mess around when the boys are in pain...get medical assistance.
It's easy to procrastinate because you think it'll be embarrassing (I did) but you'll feel so much relief when it's over, and everyone will be completely professional.

In general, testicular cancer doesn't cause pain until very late in the game. It's one of the reasons that so many cancers go undiagnosed.

Testicular pain is usually related to infection or injury. Epididymitis and prostatitis is often the cause. Make an appointment and have your doctor check it for you.

There is a condition called "testicular torsion" that can occur- usually in younger guys- where the blood supply to the testicle is compromised. It occurs in only 1 testicle, is often related to physical activity and it is extremely painful. This is one condition that requires a trip to the emergency room, as it usually requires immediate surgery to restore blood flow to the affected testicle.

I have actually had a reaally bad chest infection and been on antibiotics for about a week or so... i think it is my third day of soreness so i will perhaps give it until tomorrow then make a doctors appointment for thusday. Thank you all for the advice

^^ this I did not know, I am the product of bad second hand info from my PTFE classes in the past.

Aside from the infection soreness (I can relate with swelling) what do you think would cause;

1. Pain in testicles (mostly 1, not usually both), actually mostly a discomfort, not full pain.
2. pain subsides within 24-30 hrs with rest and warm bath.
3. Usual onset is sleeping without underwear on (and no they didn't get trapped somewhere, I would have woken up quickly from that).

yeah - get that nutsack to a UROLOGIST right away - and get it checked out --

your family doctor doesn't have the experience a specialist does --

don't fool around with this - given your family history too --

take care buddy !!
let us know how you're doin!!

I had an issue with a sore testicle a couple of years ago. I went through a battery of tests and antibiotics for prostatitis and even had a sonogram to see if there was anything going on. Nothing worked. I kept telling doctors I had a slight back pain, too. They said unconnected. I started upping the times I did back exercises and stretches for hips, and the pain eventually went away. It's best you go see a doctor just to be sure you don't have any inflammation in the prostate or in the testicle that is given you pain, but it might be you need to do some stretches and yoga-like movements for your back.

One of the challenges in diagnosing pain is that while pain on the skin is pretty specific in location, pain in the internal organs is not. For example, one sign of problems with the spleen (which is located in the abdomen) is pain in the shoulder. This is what we call "referred pain".

There's a number of things that can cause testicular pain. Some are specific to the testicles- like varicocele, epididymitis or testicular torsion. Others are referred pain- like inguinal hernia or prostatitis.

If it has occurred repeatedly, it is something that you should mention to your doctor.

Thank you all for the info. The pain went away thank god. I didnt bother going to the doctor because I was already on antibiotics so i figured it wasnt an infection. I think it might have just been like something strained from coughing my lungs out lol
