  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Thanksgiving, whatever.

I didn't mean this as anything horrible, :( I just mean it as it's not fun in my opinion and its meaningless to me. I don't go to my dads side of the family cause they are all drugged up now, there mother died and they have completely tossed there lives away. I don't even speak to him anymore, want's nothing to do with my brothers and me. My mom's side of the family dislikes me because i'm gay, they are so judgemental and its so packed, having a ton of people who view you different makes for unpleasent holidays.

I can relate.

(*8*)

Let's just go gorge ourselves on mashed potatoes and gravy. I could do that right now, lol.

Well I don't think you brought anything down, Christopher. You were honest and I think it was a very good contribution to this thread...and a good example of why we should take the holidays for what they're worth and try to appreciate them, even with annoyances aside.

Thank you. That means a lot

Aww Chris, you are my hero! Your so sweet!

(*8*)

Nah, I just like mashed potatoes ;)

Thank you, though, that was sweet (*8*)

But I think I need to drag my ass to bed before I blow out completely. It's late. And when it gets late, I get emotional.

Night, everybody. Thanks for listening to my sob story :(

I live in a very small town...population about 100 here in the mountains of Southern Colorado. Thanksgiving has not lost its true meaning here. On the Sunday before or after Thanksgiving we have a town wide Thanksgiving famlily style dinner. People are called to cook and donate turkeys, all the fixing, soups, all kinds of salads etc. You get the idea! I cooked a turkey this year as well as last year. The Town wide dinner is open to everyone at no cost! We ran out of food this year before the dinner was to end. We have more than 26 turkeys donated!
