Ya know what? I am sick and tired of hiding who I am! I am gay... And NOT ashamed of it, its not wrong and I need to just accept it and be fully done with it!

My so-called family will never accept that! Ergo, I am moving out!

FYI I am a Senior in HS and actually go to a Community College for free, thanks to the Washington State Running Start Program...

I completely support myself outside of living with the Grandparents (Dad lives here to, rent free)...

And Mom knows (about my sexuality), after not speaking to her for 3 yrs I finally decided it was time to put the past behind us and move on... After talking to her for awhile I decided I ought to tell her, and I did, she is now totally fine with it! Thankfully...

And she is really encouraging me to finish the rest of my Senior year while living with her...

I am taking her up on that.

I am waiting another week before I break the news to dear'ol dad.

I know that my "family" on my dads side will never accept me, so I ask you, are they really family? Me thinks not!

So I figured, what the hell, lets see how the mothers side of the family reacts...

Well, Grandma said... "Thats it? Whats the big deal? He better not be more of a whore that my son Gerald! But he is still my grandson and I love him dearly and always will!"

Wow, after that response I couldnt say much but "I really love you!"

So then it was time to tell the uncles... ( Im will be around them alot so I might as well)

The first Uncle, Gary...

"So what? He is my nephew and a part of my family, why should I care whom he choses to love? He, as a family member, is always welcome in my house, of course, as long as he aint a rapist or murderer!"

Wow, he was the one I was really worried about... Figured he would freak...

So then, time to tell Gerald. His response was simply

"Well ya hid that pretty well, I had no fuckin clue... But I am still your Uncle and as long as you are the same person sitting in that chair as you were a minute ago you're still a great guy in my book... BTW did you know that your grandma, mother and uncle (Gary) always thought I was gay?" Then he went on to say somethin about always using protection ( I was like, DUH!) #-o

So yeah, the fam took it pretty good, at least on the moms side.

So what about school you ask? Well I told the rest of my friends today. Only one called me a fuckin queer... 'Cept he later apologised because the rest of our group called him a dick and tried to, well, remove him from the group...

Then in ENGL class a dude asked me "What are you gay or somethin?!?" ( Mind, he said this after a comment on how digusting a book was because it had a reference to "Greek Love"...

My response was "Actually I am, gotta problem wi'that? :lol2:

He was stunned... It was classic...

So ya know what, I dont give a fuck if anyone has a problem with it! I mean honestly, why should I?

Oh and Dad clearly told me today that if I am going to major in Journalism, that he will not help me at all with college funding. So I aint worried about it!

Oh and, most likely, tomarrow I will be dumping my bf, that is for another thread, but although he taught me a lot about :gaysex: and :bj:

He is simply not for me!

Yup, thats my Grandma for ya! She is what may be considered, Rude, Crude and Socially Unacceptable! And a loud mouth to boot!

But a very loving person and non-judgemental, unlike my other grandma...

Congratulations!!! Please don't write you dad off. People often have a problem with gays, until it hits home. Your dad may have some real problems with it and it may take him some time to come to terms with it. Stand tall and proud, but don't cut him out of your life. Good luck!
 
Good for you!It's great your mom's side of the family is so accepting,loving and supportive!And good on your friends too...as for your dad,hopefully he'll turn around,but that is his problem ,not yours.Glad you can now go on and live the life you want without pain,fear or regret...I can only wish I had your courage annd guts and told my family when I was young.You're gonna do great for yorself!..|:D

Wow. Well done. You're just a Bob the Builder bulldozer when you decide you're going to do something. Now that you've cleared your path you'll hopefully be able to focus on your studies and personal life without carrying around the burden of worrying about telling people who you really are.

Good for your mother. She is doing good by you. Good for your grandma and uncles. They will not be getting coal for Christmas.

Best of luck in pursuing your education in journalism.

You might want to ask your father for a list of the degrees he would pay for and just choose one with your eyes shut and say that it is the one you're pursuing after doing undergrad. Cross your fingers behind your back. I doubt if he'll ever check your curriculum.
 
Well I didn't tell them to their face, I haven't been able to do that yet.
I sent the 4 people a message, personalized for each of them.
They all 4 were cool with it.

Then last night I was talking to a friend, and he asked me if I was gay, and I said yes.

He asked because my myspace says "Not Sure" in my orientation....But I am sure, I am just not ready to put "Gay" yet.

That is 5 people in one day, the most that I have ever told in one day!
 
Oh and FYI...

I did lose all of my Dads family... For better or worse I doubt they will speak to me again...

No Biggie, kinda sucks but if they cant handle it than screw'em!
