"The 100 Greatest, Gayest Albums (of All Time)"

Re: "The 100 Greatest, Gayest Albums (of All Time)

I don't quite get how some of these album are gay...

apart from that. my first thought was lou reed's "transformer", it was the first album i heard that made me realise that while it may not be cool to be gay right now (in suburbia, 1998 ) it can be incredibly hip and dangerous. was there any stooges/iggy pop in there. songs like "loose" with the lyric "stick it deep/inside 'cause i'm loose" blew my mind when i was a teen.

Re: "The 100 Greatest, Gayest Albums (of All Time)

An album that was influential to me at the time of my coming out was Barbra Streisand's soundtrack to "Yentl."

"There's someone who must hear
the words I've never spoken.
Tonight if he were here
my silence would be broken.
I need him to touch me
to know the love that's in my heart.
The same heart that tells me
to free myself, to be myself at last..."

It's an interesting article. I would say I own 90% of them, and I'm downloading 1 or 2 based on the reviews given with the list.
