What? Me? Really?
The Documentary Channel just aired The Wolfpack Brothers.
Somehow, I missed this story when it broke in 2015 or so.
Honestly, when I was browing the menu on the TV, and read the description, I thought, "WHO ripped off the plot of Being There, and why were they not sued?" In my defense, I had just woken and it was in the wee hours. I then noticed it was the Documentary Channel and not a fiction movie.
This is not the documentary, but an online article about them:
https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainmen...-years-locked-nyc-apartment/story?id=31807232
Gobsmacked.
I caught maybe the last hour of a 90-minute or maybe longer documentary.
In your wildenst imagination, you could not have combined these disparate elements:
A Michigan farm girl.
A Peruvian husband who is Hare Krishna, and paranoid to the extreme.
Extreme hermitic behavior of a family with seven children living in housing projects on the Lower East Side of NYC.
90's kids who were raised with no phones, no extended family, no countact with society beyond cinema on either CDs or VHS.
Really bad teeth.
Very long-haired brothers who inadvertently looked fem.
Astonishinig resilience alongside extreme social retardation.
