so yesterday, my little brother got moved from county jail to a prison in Bakersfield.

I'm kinda freaked, but he says that it's necessary and that the good news is that he'll get some privacy and he'll get some sleep.

It also means that we're in the final stretch.

He's been sentenced to two years and given one strike.

Giving time served and giving good behavior, there's an outside possibilty that he'll be out for new years.

Which means BIG party. Or maybe just a small get together.

either way, this is the beginning of the end.
 
Glad to hear the news about your brother, Jasun. Never having been to jail, I'm not sure I get the references about more sleep. Is it less crowded/fewer guys per cell or something?

(For a second, I thought this was going to be a "I don't like you people and I'm quitting this board" message! But, nah, not from Soilwork.)
 
I'm happy to hear that Jasun! I know how much he means to you and all the sweat & tears you've shed over his situation. Just a little bit longer & all will be over! And yes, he will be in a much better place "down the road" than in the county jail. He will have much more freedom too.

Most facilities are over crowded whether they be local, county or state. On the state level, the design is more for long term and as such there are fewer to a cell (usually).
 
Certainly good news to hear. I hope his remaining stay is a short one.
 
This is wonderful news Jasun! I know how protective you are of , and how much you love your little bro. Hang in there a few more months...(*8*)
 
He was in protective custody in Jail (because he's gay) and that meant being in one room with 40 other guys and no privacy, no peace and quiet and no full night's sleep for 7 months.

In prison there are 2 to a cell and he'll get at least limited privacy and some peace and quiet and a full night's sleep.

For those who missed the saga.. I can't really say much until the whole ordeal is over, but yes... he's been a naughty guy.

And I was the one who had to turn him in. So this past year has been rather devistating for me and that may be a reason that I've had such a short fuse.

So hopefully next year will be really really good.
 
What a new years it would be. I hope things go according to plan.

I also hope he understands why you did what you did. Best to both of ya.
 
It's great that it is the beginning of the end, but it certainly sounds scary.

I'm glad to hear that he should be getting some more privacy. An old friend of mine kind of went through the same thing. It made a huge difference in his attitude towards life. I hope you brother gets out soon for his good behavior, and I hope he takes something valuable away from this.
 
That's good news. Perhaps the move will take a lot of stress of him. I hope he gets out soon and you two can celebrate. That would be a fantastic way to start off the new Year.
 
Soilwork, that's great news! I hope you get your wish and that he's out by the new year. The next 4 months will fly by, I'm sure.

Jasun, I'm glad to hear that he's in the final stretch of this nightmare. Hopefully he can get on with his life starting in 2007.

I knew you were close to your bro man. Being the older gay brother and all. Didn't know that he was having some serious problems though.
Surely all will be well though, with a brother as protective and loving as you man, it cannot be otherwise.
