So last year I likely had a stress fracture that then opened the door to a flare-up of arthritis....but after months of back and forth and hoping to avoid arthroscopy
I finally have a brace that reminds me of this https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2...-41bf-9225-5de89f1323de_750x.jpg?v=1585179291

But my kitten Mizzy lives to lace it up in the morning and unlace it at night.

I also call her every morning to lace my boots and every afternoon to help my untie them with the same mantra "These boots aren't going to lace/unlace themselves"...it is a perfect 5 minutes at the beginning and end of every day.

Are your animals (furry slaves) lace obsessed?

My best buddy and I have had between us, over the decades, 17 cats, and none of them have been interested in laces.
That's odd, now that I think of it.

Between the boot laces and the throw-the-mouse games, it sounds like Mizzy has a delightful life!

Apollo definitely likes playing with laces. He usually drags my shoes out of the laundry room and into the kitchen. I’ve taken to hanging my shoes on the coat rack to keep him from playing with them.

Over the years I've befriended some amazing cats.
Including this one neighbor's tabby that learned to jump through my kitchen window and hide all day in my flat - from my neighbor!

A girdle for the foot. I have been wearing one for the past 5 weeks after the broken leg and ankle injury. The tying of the laces. The velcro straps on each ankle to wrap up and the velcro strap on the back of the ankle to keep everything nice and tight. If I had my cats they would be going crazy on the laces. The biggest problem with the ankle support is getting my foot into a shoe or sneaker. Good thing I had old sneakers with the tongue not attached with the newest design of sneakers has the tongue attached on the sides of a sneaker.

I have a shoelace tied to the end of a wand that Maple will chase sometimes, but laces are more alluring if they're still attached to something. Like my sweatpants. It used to be men tugging at them, now it's just the cat.

Anik used to try to get the wrist strap from my digital camera. Of course when I removed it and stuck it on a wand, he couldn't be bothered.

On a related note, after more than a week of searching, I finally found the nubby toy wedged behind the couch. All hail the nubby toy!!!

When I was kitten sitting Jackrabbit a couple years ago I played with him with a shoestring. He liked it more than all the toys they brought with him.

I now have a ritual where 10 minutes before I need to lace up the boots, I bring them in for Missy and sometimes Boo to play with. We have a grand old time for about 5 minutes and then I let them play on their own for the rest...so that by the time I am ready to lace them up I can do it....
