Tut, tut, tut.

Shame on you, Ben.

Have you no respect for other's bizarre religious fairytale beliefs?

Of course I do; as it happens, I believe in a big pink dragon that lives in the clouds above Cirencester that encourages the mockery and ridicule of other religions. It pleases him and he rewards me with free access to BBC News 24 AND water that comes forth from my taps.

Ah ha, a fellow devotee of the Great Pink Cloud-Dwelling Cirencester Dragon (PBUH). ..|

Incidentally, ever since I became a believer in the almighty power of the GPCDCD (PBUH), I've never once run out of air to breathe. It's a miracle! Verily, He hath blessed and rewarded me for my grovelling worship.

Oh dear.............not bad :D :xmas: :corn:

Purely out of interest:

Why Cirencester?

And is he related to the twin dragons of Dinas Emrys who foretold the Anglo-Saxon invasion?

And am I reading way too much into this?

Why Cirencester?

Somewhat tangentically...

I had a collegue once who had such a lisp he couldn't make the "S" sound without it sounding like the Welsh "Ll" (cf. Donald Duck).

Unfortunately for him, he lived in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. His name was Simon.

Laugh? I nearly shat.

Mandy: What star sign is he?
Wise Man #2: Capricorn.
Mandy: Capricorn, eh? What are they like?
Wise Man #2: He is the son of God, our Messiah.
Wise Man #1: King of the Jews.
Mandy: And that's Capricorn, is it?
Wise Man #3: No, no, that's just him.
Mandy: Oh, I was going to say, otherwise there'd be a lot of them.

The trouble with this crowd: you are such a well educated bunch of SOB's. Anyone read today's NY Times and the article on "atheist fundamentalists" who are all too willing to slug it out toe-to-toe with the religious right? Good opinion column.

Living in England.. suure didn't read the New York Times.
Safe though; Maybe next time.

Ben, this thread is still open. Would you like me to report it? :-)

Jesus deserves better than the fundamentalists and phonies who stain the Christian faith, and the atheists and smug 'rationalists" who mock it without thought or remorse. This is sad,not funny...but I guess since it's not in a no-flame forum,I can't be a wanker and report it.Doesn't raise my opinion of this kind of attitude among the so called enlightened progressive set here.Merry Christmas to you anyway, may God bless you, every one!
