i just finished watching this fun little gem of a movie from korea: the host.

i wasn't aware of this one and checked it out on dvd. has anyone else seen it?

I've been wanting to rent this movie....was it any good GL?

i go by myself all the time.

it used to not bother me but lately... eh.

anyhow, chato its on dvd! check it out!

HAHA!!I go the theater most of the time by myself!...i get there early too...last row,in the center is where i sit always :cool:

if it's a stadium style theater i tend to sit on the first row, second level right in the middle.

Saw this awhile back. It is a good movie.

Don't go to the theater here... when I'm watching a movie, I wanna watch a movie -not have or hear conversations with my students!

I bought this the other day for $9.95. I really liked it. Of course I watched the dubbed version first but I'm going to watch it again in Korean with the subtitles.
I don't like going to the theater either, unless the movie is played out and there's a chance that it might be kinda empty. I like doing pay-per-view or just waiting for the movie to come out on a movie channel. Yes The Host is great and I recommend it. :)

^ the palladium at ih-10 and 1604 will show first run movies in an "kid-free" environment. i've not tried it myself but it's a good thing if you ask me. some times those kids...

but i'm glad you liked 'the host!'

OH! I didn't know that. I work like right down the street. I'll usually go to the Silverado if I do the movies after work. I know the palladium has the i-max right and a friend of mine told me that they serve beer there. I do want to see Book of Secrets and 10,000 BC in the theater.

^ oh! i love the silverado myself but yeah, it can get pretty busy with the local kids and teens all over the place.

the palladium is sweet! we saw spider-man 3 (meh) and 300 in i-max and it was great. it isn't like the i-max downtown at rivercenter. the screen is just too big. at the palladium the dimensions are just right! 10,000 bc looks awesome and i'm pretty sure when the dark knight opens they'll have an i-max presentation as well!

@GL247
I've never seen a movie movie at the IMax, I've only seen the 45min? touristy features they have down at the Rivercenter. The Alamo, starring Don Swayze (haha) and a couple of the 3D featurettes they always have running. I guess now I need to check out the Palladium! It always seems packed but it looks like a big place. The last movie I went to was Live Free or Die Hard down at Embassy. I went with a bunch of friends, it was fun.

^ oh man, it's been years since i've been to the embassy myself. i've bowled at country lines just in front of the theater. the last movie i saw was 'cloverfield' over at amc 24 @ huebner oaks. i would highly recommend checking out the palladium. yes it's busy but its really nice over there. although, be forwarned... i went into the men's room and stepped into a stall and was really surprised at the highly reflective nature of the black tiles used throughout. i could see myself and the other guys to the left and right of me as we all relieved ourselves!

@GL247
I saw Cloverfield too, (but not in the theater :-$) which is almost like The Host but with less annoying characters.
Cool.. then I'll probably trick a co-worker into going to the movies with me next week! The last time I talked someone into going to the movies with me was to see The Lion The Witch... and then the whole time I kept thinking we should have gone to see King Kong accross the hall because TLTWTW was a terrible movie. haha! tnx

^ ha! i did too! i honestly don't know if some of the stuff was intended to be funny, but it was.
